Cant expect much in rural areas. But Verizon works okay out here. I was able to make cell phpne my primary phone but dont expect too much for data because there is no 3G in this neck of the woods or dsl for that matter of fact. oh yeah I CAN get 3 bars but that mean I DO all of the time.

T Mobile works good in suffolk, the only part of suffolk I have trouble with t mobile is southern suffolk, once you past the airport going towards carolina there is no service, and then there are some dead spots around the Lake Prince area, otherwise t mobiles works everywhere else in suffolk

Major Industrial Park for the Suffolk Area... When I visit this area my fully-charged cell battery runs out searching for a signal.

Wilroy Rd. But All Around Really, Suffolk, VA 23434 |

I had T-Mobile which wasn't bad in Hampton, but it was very very weak around Suffolk. I switched my number over to Alltel and so far the coverage has been much better. I get a signal all over and it's always very good. I get full signal where I need it at home and at work. I've spent time just driving around and watching the signal meter since I'm still in my trial period, and it's really hard to believe how much better Alltel is around here. Coverage is good and plans are nice too. I find that on my two lines I rarely use any anytime minutes since most of my calls are to the 10 unlimited numbers in my circle.

Worst phone, worst reception, and worst customer service ever. My 2 year contract ends next week. I've had 3 of the V180s, and my son had 2 - because they died. Reception in the house is terrible. Sitting there with 4 bars, then drops the call. Then a bar or 2. Random work. If at home and need to make an important call, I use my land line. My husbands Verizon phone works just fine.

I work off of Burnetts Way at the hospital but live on basically the other side of Suffolk just off of E Washington St. It seems like I travel all over the city though but Alltel reception has always been great. I've tried it out for a while, 4 months now after getting a Razr from their store on N Main. But I get full signal at home and at work on 5 bars. Reception is great all over the city and it seems like even the backroads are covered great. No problems driving toward Emporia or Norfolk either. I'm very happy with this service. Call quality is also great and no dropped calls like I previously had with another provider I won't mention. I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of my landline too now because of how reliable it has been.

Since I first wrote on 6 / 28 / 05, Verizon said they need another tower to cover my area, as I am 1.2 miles too far away from their downtown tower. At least at the end of this month I can switch carriers without a penalty as they don't care whether the "Can you hear me now?" man can hear in my driveway. They have called me 4 times to renew and take a survey, but do nothing about the poor service in my home area. I am tired having to use the speaker phone to somewhat hold a call.
