Never have had problems getting voice or data coverage from my office building.

I live right behind the Tysons Corner Sheraton hotel, which has a big cell antenna array at the top of the hotel tower. I can unscrew the antenna from my phone, and still get five bars, and make perfect calls! I wonder how much radiation is frying my brain right now. That probably explains alot... ... ..

Verizon - great reception, stinky phones...

Have had Verizon Wireless for years and have had little to no connection issues all over the DC metro area and even across the country. I switched to Sprint PCS at one point to try and get a better deal but had a terrible time keeping a signal and switched back to Verizon 3 weeks later. Wish Verizon supported smartphones like the Treo, however.

Verizon is very reliable and works almost everywhere in the DC area... including the Metro! Unfortunately, my company has decided to contract with Sprint and T-Mobile. I have had Sprint before -- it was bad, not working in any buildings. I may go with T-Mobile just to not have to deal with Sprint and their (lack of) customer service. When I was with them, I tried for 4 months to get my employee discount, they kept promising it was done... and the next bill wouldn't include the discount. Of course, they have no way to make it retro-active! I finally gave up and went back to Verizon.

Excellent coverage even in buildings.

I am not really trying to comment on reception, but rather, that this map is missing about 85-90% of the known cell towers that exists around the Washington DC area. Why? What good is a site that only shows a few cell towers, when I know, there are many, many more that are missing from these maps, all around the area, and the beltway? Who is supplying information to this site? How is it updated? There are plenty of Android apps and iPhone Apps that show the many towers that are missing from this site. Also, all you ave to do is drive around the major roads, and you see that this site is lacking.

Not great reception for conversations, but decent for to-the-point calls.

Around August of 2005, I start use T-Mobile and no reception in my house. I have to get out of the house to use my cell phone, however, line drop frequently. I called and complained to T-Mobile and now I have 3 to 4 bar of signal in my house. So far I am happy with my cell reception.

can use the phone upstairs, although it drops calls after 15 minutes. Can't use id downstairs. Reception dandy if I go to the corner

Constantly dropped calls within the house. Outside of the house, reception is acceptable although weak.

Good signal at home and work, but many poor reception spots around the house, Tyson's, I66... Had Verzon for few years and enjoyed better reception, but hated dealing with them and was limitted to ohone options. Also, wanted a GSM Phone / Service for travel. Not many other options, though, since the rest (SPrint, T-Mobile, etc. aren't better.) Not sure what will I do next!

Too many dropped calls. Sometimes voice mail signal alerts me to message that came in a minute before without my phone ever ringing.

Poor reception. T-Mobile coverage maps 'claim' to have "GREAT" coverage in this area, but it is extremely spotty, lots of dropped calls and dead zones.

AT&T reception is poor and often drops out as other comments in this area T(ysons tollway Wolftrap) have noted. Beware deals offering "free phones" and cool features on phones for teenagers. It is the longer lasting effects of the service or lack of therein that are important.We will switch providers.

AT&T signal varies from very poor to none.

Put in a SOHO repeater with mixed results. Outside RX measurment showed -104dbm which is too low for any reliable coverage (need at least -95). Verizon was just as bad but I don't know the signal strength. I switched to AT&T to get the iPhone and because AT&T's coverage map showed this area as their "best reception." What a joke!
