Zero signal-bars here where T-Mobile says "fair reception." Verizon Wireless service at same location on Blackberry was good. T-Mobile's answer is that it is putting up thousands of new antennae every year. Not here though!

AT&T signal varies from very poor to none.

Phone will ring sometimes, but it is never possible to talk.

Put in a SOHO repeater with mixed results. Outside RX measurment showed -104dbm which is too low for any reliable coverage (need at least -95). Verizon was just as bad but I don't know the signal strength. I switched to AT&T to get the iPhone and because AT&T's coverage map showed this area as their "best reception." What a joke!

Dropped calls and terrible voice quality inside the house. Signal is more consistent outside of the house although signal strength seems to vary wildly and unpredictably.

Good signal at home and work, but many poor reception spots around the house, Tyson's, I66... Had Verzon for few years and enjoyed better reception, but hated dealing with them and was limitted to ohone options. Also, wanted a GSM Phone / Service for travel. Not many other options, though, since the rest (SPrint, T-Mobile, etc. aren't better.) Not sure what will I do next!

Terrible reception - just moved back to DC area from San Francisco which has pretty decent Cingular coverage (except in areas blocked by the hills). Looks like Verizon is the best in northern VA / DC? A cool, slick phone is useless if the reception sucks.

Verizon is very reliable and works almost everywhere in the DC area... including the Metro! Unfortunately, my company has decided to contract with Sprint and T-Mobile. I have had Sprint before -- it was bad, not working in any buildings. I may go with T-Mobile just to not have to deal with Sprint and their (lack of) customer service. When I was with them, I tried for 4 months to get my employee discount, they kept promising it was done... and the next bill wouldn't include the discount. Of course, they have no way to make it retro-active! I finally gave up and went back to Verizon.

Often can't use Sprint in or near my house in Dunn Loring / Merrifield area. Get zero of one bar. Other parts of Fairfax County also problematic. Calls drop on the beltway near the Dulles Access Rd.

Too many dropped calls. Sometimes voice mail signal alerts me to message that came in a minute before without my phone ever ringing.

Terrible reception in the Dunn-Loring / Merrifield section of Vienna. Can only use Sprint sporadically in my house or surrounding streets.

T-mobile has the worst reception in this area. After wasting over a year on dropped calls or no reception at all I was told by the oh so helpful people at Cingular that I lived in a "Marginal service area" and that it would continue to be that way for at least the next few years!! I told them they could have Freakin told me that before I signed a 2 year contract! Beware and check what service area you are in before signing with any cell phone service! I have Cingular now and it has excellent reception in vienna.

At various places in my house and around the Town of Vienna I have no or very poor reception. I do not have this problem any other place I roam.

Around August of 2005, I start use T-Mobile and no reception in my house. I have to get out of the house to use my cell phone, however, line drop frequently. I called and complained to T-Mobile and now I have 3 to 4 bar of signal in my house. So far I am happy with my cell reception.
