If I wasn't on a two year contract with AT&T, I would switch in a second. I get absolutely no service inside the Jamestown buildings, or Swem, or many of the others. I used to get very little service inside my dorm in other buildings, though, not nothing at all. And when I called AT&T's customer service to tell them it's terrible on campus, all they said was "it's labeled as 'good service'". I told them I was standing right in the middle of it, and it definitely isn't good service, but my call was dropped and I didn't get a call back. I'm very frustrated with them at the moment, I mean honestly... why do other providers get service inside this building, and only AT&T has problems?
Varies from no coverage to 1 or 2 bars. Generally very unreliable around Williamsburg. Returned my iPhone and went back to Verizon's solid coverage after missing too many calls.
Calls drop. One or no bars inside any academic buildings or dormitories. However, works perfect on outside. In addition, signal gets stronger and stronger as one walks toward James Town Rd and Richmond Rd Interesection.
I have excellent reception using AT&T (formerly Cingular) as my wireless provider. I carry my cellphone everywhere as a safety measure, even when I play golf.
I'm pleased with the reception I've gotten from Alltel and I would recommend it to others. It seems like I've always got a good signal. It drops off a little indoors, but I've never been in any campus building or store that I couldn't make a call from anywhere. Love this phone, it sounds crystal clear. I've had several people ask me what provider I use in several places because they're getting no service and in comparison, Alltel seems to do great here.
