I don't know what these other AT&T users are complaining about; I've always had service wherever I go throughout the woodbridge, lakeridge, or entire nva area basically. On the rare occassion that I do have one bar is when I'm at a croweded area indoors ie the mall. Even then my calls / texts / internet usage are pristine. AT&T rocks.

My house is a complete dead zone - 0 bars, "no service" message, all the time. But service is perfect in the front yard. Can't wait for Apple to come out with an iPhone for Verizon! I'm in Woodbridge, Marumsco Village, a few hundred feet off 95, about 2 miles south of the 123 exit, where the water tower used to be.

Though I get decent 3-5 elsewhere, my nearest tower is to my south at the County Building. Seems that its also the Police tower as well, so maybe thats why I get 0-2 at home outside and 0-1 inside.

There are many times a day that I say I can't stand Cingular / AT&T coverage. I am on my second phone and I still get a lot of dropped calls and even though I am near Washington D.C., Cingular has many holes in coverage. I am going to dump Cingular as soon as I and dump them. You call this cell service?

I've never had any problems with service in my area. Whether it be in or outdoors service and reception is of high quality. Bars tend to fluctuate some traveling on 95 but never completely lost signal.

I just rented a house in Ashland community. I have 1 bar and cannot place calls from the house all the way to Rt. 95 (about 1-2 miles) and, like magic, have a full 5 bars. Wish I knew this before I signed the lease.

With Cingular, my reception is perfect at my home. Going down Hoadly Road, it craps out at Hoadly Rd.and Dale Blvd., but that is about the only dead spot around. When I visit my friends in Montclair, the reception is really bad to absolute zero.

Former AT&T customer sold to cingular. Reception is 2 to 5 bars most times, which is enough to make a call but it changes rapidly without me moving. As others have said 5 to 0 in a second, just long enough to drop the call. Also, I sometimes simply won't get incoming calls or messages and messages can be delayed for up to a few days. I was hoping a better phone might improve the situation but from reading the other reviews it seems unlikely.

Had Verizon, switched to Cingluar. Same phone with each company. Here's the breakdown of each: Verizon Pros: Great reception everywhere (Huge Pro!) Verizon Cons: The worst customer service of ANY COMPANY EVER! (Huge con cause the bill is ALWAYS messed up which is another con) More expensive than cingular No rollover, $.45 / min over really adds up Cingular Pros: Rollover minutes are a lifesaver! My bill is always the same, never more than I signed up for. Good customer service, not great... good. Cingular Cons: Does 5-0 in 60 sec. In other words, like someone else said, I can go from 5 full bars to 0 and have the call dropped while stationary at any time of day no matter where I am. I could be next to one of their towers and lose a call. This is not all the time... seems like some days is just fine. It's like a box of chocolates, never know what you're gonna get. So it boils down to this... you either take great reception with crappy everything else. Or you can have kinda crappy reception, but not deal with the headache when the bill comes. Like they say, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
