Starting half a mile before the Woodford Town Hall until almost Wilmington. It is completely gone for most of the 15+ mile trip. You might get a bar or 2 if you are lucky but don't count on it.

Generally hover around 2 and 3 bars. 2 bars more often then not. Can make calls and receive calls with very good clarity. But other then At&t, US Cellular is king in southern Vermont. Those are the only 2 carriers that work. Only downside to US Cellular is that they are just NOW getting into the smartphone market. Mesmerize is their best phone made by Samung. It is looks like an Ipod touch. Takes really good pictures. Other then that, US Cellular has a ton of Blackberries.

At&t rocks with the Iphone 4. Bennington,VT and pretty much the whole southern half of these state is very hard to find a carrier that works. Verizon is terrible and don't work anywhere south of Rutland,VT. Sprint is the same way, no coverage south of Rutland,VT. So if you live in southern half of Vermont or plan on traveling through here, get AT&T or US Cellurlar. Those are the ONLY 2 carriers that work in the southern half of Vermont. I am highly impressed. I actually have a cell phone that works now in Bennington,VT. Why I even get 3 bars deep inside of Price Choppers, Walmart, Kmart and Hannafords. On average I get 4 bars sometimes 5 bars outside. Indoors I get 4 bars majority of the time, sometimes 3 bars.

Verizon doesn't work in Bennington at all. Ever since I moved out here from Chicago last summer, I get no signal at all. And customer service is a joke, all they ever say is dial *228 option 2. That does nothing at all. My Droid is a paper weight now. But yet Verizon coverage map says this a good coverage area, BS. Then the Verizon rep had the nerve to say I should "BUY" their network extender for $250. I would rather use that money to break out of my contract early and switch to US Cellular, which seems to have good service throughout this town.

Can't get reception to stay more than 60 sec at a time. Have to go outside of house or down cellar to talk or understand reception.

If I have reception at all it sucks and 9 out of 10 phone calls are lost - and the customer service here is sooooo rude

T-mobile is useless once you head east out of Troy, NY towards and into Vermont. No reception at all. (to be fair, their web site shows no coverage in this area). Skiers beware! T-Mobile is big in NYC and NJ but useless out here (well maybe on top of a chair lift).
