I have an old iPhone 3GS, and was looking at other carriers just for updates. Generally speaking, I have no issues at all with the AT&T coverage. I switched from Verizon because in the New North End and Malltts Bay, it was useless. Sometimes I slip to 2 bars, but in South Burlington and by Dorset St.etc.. 4-5 bars is the normal. Lately, I've been interested in getting a dumb phone with no data plan. Was this review helpful to you?
On west / lake side of building, very poor reception - people hear only every other word. On east / city side, reception is acceptable. Was this review helpful to you?
I live two miles out of burlington (the largest city around) and I get no cell service. Fail! Was this review helpful to you?
Excellent coverage most places. Strong signal. Live in rural Chittenden County and have to go to certain spot for signal inside house (strong outside) but get coverage where Verizon and AT&T don't get any at all. Why isn't T-Mobile here yet? They have great coverage and a VT Certificate of Public Good, but no local #s / store! Was this review helpful to you?
excellent reception here in South burlington on Flynn aveWas this review helpful to you?
As far as I've seen, AT&T has solid coverage across all of Burlington and the immediate surrounding area. Never had a problem with them. Coverage seems to have been increased with the recent deployment of 3G.Was this review helpful to you?
Funny thing: the phone shows 4-5 bars but has no receptions and will not make calls. Also, off Waybury Rd. / Colchester Pt. Rd.- no reception. Was this review helpful to you?
People here and elsewhere claim that Unicel and Nokia are good, but I get no bars in my office with Unicel and a Nokia 6085h, whereas my officemate has no problems making calls with a cheapo Jitterbug service and phone. I think a lot has to do with what tower your service connects to.Was this review helpful to you?
Had no service to call out on, could receive incoming calls but they were almost immediately dropped. Was this review helpful to you?
Reception poor in buildings and across much of campus. Was this review helpful to you?
No reception from Burlington to St. Albans None in airport None in Sheldon None in Fairfax None in SheldonWas this review helpful to you?
If I'm lucky I can get 2 bars but one is the norm and even if you start with 2 it usually drops to 1 and the call usually drops soon after. Was this review helpful to you?
Calls tend to drop in this area. There has been a slight improvement but it shouldn't be a problem in Burlington. Was this review helpful to you?
Great Alltell Reception throughout Vermont. Interstate 91 and 89, Hiway 7 and throughout Burlington area. National Freedom Plan so no roaming charges...Was this review helpful to you?
No coverage from any network anywhere in Burlington, or down to Shelburne. Also tried Treo 600, also no good. Was this review helpful to you?
I live in Massachusetts and visit family in the Burlington area once every couple of months. I thought I had absolutely no reception in the entire state of Vermont until I recently took a different way home and had reception for about a 5 mile radius near Killington. That is the only time my T-Mobile phone has ever worked in Vermont. The coverage map on T-mobile's site claims to have roaming coverage in Vermont, especially around Burlington and Montpelier, but I've never had service up there. Was this review helpful to you?
Visiting from California. I had roaming ability in September '05 and now nothing. Burlington Int. Airport - nothing; Grand Isle - nothing. Was this review helpful to you?
As Unicel continues to build more towers, the GSM network is proving to outperform everyone. I got lost looking for a friend's house in the absolute middle of nowhere and never lost coverage when I needed directions, even though I was forced to call my friend on her landline because our particular location disabled her phone. I typically hate everything about cell phones and cell phone companies, but this was excellent. Was this review helpful to you?
Great Nextel service in Burlington, all over campus, and within the city limits. Only in Milton along Bear Trap Road. That's the ONLY place in Chittenden County that I haven't gotten service. Good service in NW Vermont. Service good to Canadian Border, except between Georgia and St Albans. Swanton and St Albans good. I-89 to Montpelier good, Vermont 15 to Stowe good, US 7 to Middlebury Good. Never less then two bars. Was this review helpful to you?
The phone gets reception fairly well, but the main problem is when people call me, the call doesnt go thru to my phone 4/5 times. But I can make calls fine at anytime without any hassle. They say Cingular will have better reception by November. Was this review helpful to you?
