At Johnson State College you dont get good serivice. There are select few places in the dorms and around campus that you get ok to good serivice. If you go outside you get the best. however I dont get enough service to send a text message at times when i'm in my dorm building. Other buildings around campus are just as bad if not worse.

At my apartment I get between 1 and zero bars of analog (Unicel Tower) If I go up the hill to the north of town there is a VERY small stretch where I get good (3-4 bars) digital, this short stretch of good digital also appears to the east if town on Rt 15, but dies off to analog again before getting to Morrisville. I work in Stowe, which has very good coverage in the valley, but it rolls off quickly as you climb the mountans in any direction but south. North of me on Rt 100 service is OK all the way to Newport. My family lives in the southern half of the state and driving that way yeilds generaly very good sevice. In general Verizon has about as good coverage in Vermont as Unicel, just in different places, and anywhere Unicel still has an analog tower you rome free, but it's very irritating to have no service at home. Johnson is in a fairly deep, narrow valley and nothing gets in here though. Not radio, not TV, not even shortwave! I understand Verizon isn't going to install a tower in the valley for the maybe 100 people here who have Verizon phones, but I'm not willing to give up the excellent customer service for Unicel's new GSM tower in town. Oh well, what're you gonna do?
