I get one bar if standing outside my home (zero bars inside) on County Road, and that is extended network on US Cellular, not Verizon. The mountains present a significant obstacle, OK, but that is what VT is like and we can't remove the mountains. What we need are more towers, and many small sites on telephone or electric poles seems to be the answer for this environment. The Vermont Telecom Authority is supposed to fix this "unserved or underserved" problem by the end of 2010 and has since 2007 to do it. They are already complaining that they were underfunded and probably will not reach their goal. The capitalist moded is insufficient in rural areas where population density is low.

Heard that Verizon installed a new tower at top of Stratton Mtn by Gondola station in Jan2009. Found reception poor to 0 at our condo and only good if you are at the village facing the front of mtn. I tried an AT&T Go Phone which was a Nokia-6085 that had 3-bars reception where the Verizon Razr had 0. I just purchased the Femtocell network extender (avail Feb2009) to see if this will work with Verizon... the Verizon folks tell me that it will work, but dont know if this is sales. If it doesnt, I may switch to AT&T. I also heard that the Razr is one of the worst phones to pick up weak signals and that LG is the best for Verizon. Heard from AT&T that Nokia (quad band) is best for AT&T. Any experience you can share is welcomed.

Coverage is normally only 1 bar in town. Once in a while maybe 2 bars. Every once in a while I don't have any service at all. I am really waiting for At&T to come to VT!

Service for Verizon is very limited in Londonderry. I get 1 bar maybe 2 in some areas in town. Sometimes I get no service. Not strong coverage at all. WAITING FOR AT&T TO PROVIDE SERVICE IN VT!
