Used to have great reception but it has been deteriorating rapidly over the last 6 mos or so. Now I get voicemail instead of phonecalls, and texts come in up to a day later. This happens all over town. 520 and Bellevue Way, Crossroads area, MS campus. I thought it was the phone going weak but now I am thinking it is the service. My contract is about to run out and I am researching to find something better.

At my kid's school, I am unreachable except for the occasional text message that squeezes through. No bars on any Verizon phone, ever.

Newport Hills / 119 Ave.SE and SE 60 St.,, Bellevue, WA 98006 Thu May 21, 2009

Hi to all, this is an update for my Feb. 8th, 2009 review; *I exchanged my LG Dare I used on Feb. 8th and got an Omnia instead for its web surfing features. few days ago I came here (Newport Hills) for work, and I noticed my Omnia and LG 6100 had full bars, and did not roam on Sprint tower, so I decided to come back to do another round of comprehensive testing. so today May 20th, I got the chance to come here around 8 pm, and performed the test in all areas I pointed in my previous review from Coal Creek parkway and se 60th st. all the way to Lake Wash. Blvd., I tested around the YMCA on se 56th st to 116th Ave se, Red Apple parking lot, around the High school, basicly I covered the whole area and here are the results: steady and strong 1xRTT signal all over the place. good EV-DO signal strength through out the whole area except at the intersection of se 60th and Coal Creek, but I was able to access the web using Verizon's 1xRTT" (1X Radio Transmission Technology). I tested the EV-DO connection by downloading the MSN Live Search traffic map, and it did very fast with no problems, the same thing with Google. even though the EV-DO signal strength was not steady as the 1X signal, but it didn't effect surfing the web performance or speed. so I'm empressed with the improvement Verizon did for the network in this area. I didn't notice any new towers been erected in this area, so I don't know how they did it.? hope you'll find this review helpfull. thanks

2-3 bars of service, now that I no longer live in range of the REPEATER at crossraods mall that they just put in. Coverage is limited and call quality sucks in the Lake Hills area. Not dropping as often as they used to when I lived in crossroads, but I do still have problems even connecting to my call. It takes my phone almost 2-3 minutes to even connect. Phone sometimes doesn't even ring, goes straght to VoiceMail. Looked at VZW coverage map and they are DROPPING coverage... looks like Cingular will be my NEXT carrier of choice, now offer 5 times more coverage than VZW. CYA VZW and ur lousy CDMA technology. GSM is clearer, drops calls less often and FASTER data. AND I DONT have to have 3 towers to maintain my connection on GSM, unlike your CDMA REQUIRING a tri-tower connection for proper service.

I frequently experiences dropped calls and no signal. In most part of my house my phone would have 1 bar or less. Reception is horrible. On the other hand, my friend who is also on Verizon uses an Audiovox and his phone seems to work better.

Verizon is the only one that has service in my house. Cingular has an offices 3 blocks down the road and my friends with Cingular get one bar and are always droping calls in my house same with T-Mobile and Sprint. Verizon is also the only one that gets service every where at my school Sammamish High. The only problem with Verizon's service is at Crossroads but most of the time jsut like at Bell Sq it switches to Extended network and that doesn't coast money. I also like Verizon becuase it is not stacty when you call people, GSM networks are very statacy it can give you a head ache

Without moving my reception can change from 1 bar to 4 bars. In most cases I need to go outside to maintain a clear connection. BTW my house is 4 blocks from Verizons NW HQ. I used to live in Duvall and could never count on clear coverage. I also find my phone going to a roam signal from places right in the heart of Bellevue. Moving to Cingular very soon. They always had service where I needed in the past. It just costs a bit more.

Full Bars in my apt never drop a call. Downtown Bellevue is good, except the southeast part, bellevue square mall is good unless you go into some stores, but I got the same service with sprint. I got great service inside Lincoln Square tho! :)

None of our phones get good reception at home, and many calls are dropped. Also get poor to no reception in the Crossroads area (both in and behind the mall). I've also had many dropped calls in Bellevue Square, where reception seems to vary greatly.

I was convinced to go cellular only and am using Verizon Wireless. It is unreliable, there is only 1 bar of reception, I have to make multiple phone calls with very limited reception. Unfortunatley, I am placing an order for a landline for home safety-I cannot rely on the Verizon Wireless service-the experiment failed miserably.

When I take the hill up 8th St. from Medina to Bellevue, and closer to home looking out towards Meydenbauer Bay, the signal is awful. At home, I get 1 bar at best, and usually nothing unless I stand in the highest point in the house. Not very functional.

Newport Hills, Bellevue, WA 98006 Thu Jul 21, 2005

I just bought Verizon service and found out that my service is terrible. I can be standing still and the reception changes from no service to 3 bars (best I can get) to extended network to entering network al in the span of 5-10 minutes. Most of the time if I have service it is extended network. The nearest cell phone tower is less than 1 / 2 mile away and I can almost see it from my house but get service - No way. I am very disappointed, and Verizon provides no assistance and acknowledge probelms in Newport Hills and Newcatle.
