AT&T

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Cordata and Kellogg | Cordata and Kellog, Bellingham, WA 98226 |

ATT service is very expensive and calls suffer a continual break, up no matter where I stand in my condo. If I am heard without breaking bhp by the other party I try to not move at all.

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Blaine, WA, Bellingham, WA 98226 |

Blaine: Consistently get 3G / 4G in Blaine at my office on Marine Drive. However, driving from Blaine to Bellingham on the I5, I drop down to 2G between exits 273 and 262. Bellingham: 3G / 4G consistently. Drops down to E / 2G when you drive towards Lynden (ex. by Hilltop Restaurant). Overall, very happy with TMo's price and value. Compared to paying 90+ on Verizon, I will take the slightly lesser signal for the huge savings.

Sprint just sucks. Crappy customer service and even worse coverage. Two blocks away is good LTE coverage but at my house is terrible. I was told that improvements to the network will change this. Well 3 months later and still sucks. I live across from the community college where hundreds of customers pass through daily. WTF?

AT&T

Says it has semi-good signal, drops calls every time. When I make calls, no one can ever hold a conversation long enough to understand the entire sentence. Cell phone booster works great, on occasion but still isn't reliable.

I cannot connect to Sprint from my house without a device they call an air rave. That device has failed more than it works. Reception mostly goes through Verizon towers outside of my house. Tech support is a joke.

T-Mobile

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Railroad Ave,, Bellingham, WA 98225 |

T-Mobile is by far the worst signal / coverage area out of the four major cell carriers. Don't be fooled by their silly false advertising stating how fast they are. Signal goes in and out, and will 'hiccuup' five or six times a day (no signal at all) for no reason whatsoever consistently regardless of where in Bellingham I am. Their Technicians are worthless as multiple users I know have reported same for years and years now and zero is done about it. Use AT&T or Verizon and avoid wasting your money on such a sub-par service.

Signal is all but absent inside buildings. I have to go outside to make and receive calls or use Data. Sprint plans are great, but it is wasted money if you cannot get the reception you need. If set to roaming, phone works better, but can only get 1x data when roaming, too slow! Sprint owns no towers up here and uses mostley Verizon towers, but only at 40% according to Verizon. None of the carriers seem to have great coverage up here, but Verizon seems to be the best according to their users.

Att is mostly good here at wwu. Service in buildings (which are mostly made of thick metal and concrete) range from zero to 4 bars, and 4-5 outside. North campus is bad indoors however. Bham overal is fine. New towers are being put up over this summer to improve the congestion.

I switched from Verizon to AT&T because I moved out toward Lake Whatcom and had no service with Verizon. AT&T seems to work great in all of Bellingham. State-wide, though, Verizon was better and I dropped less calls with them. I have a cabin in the cascades and AT&T is worthless up there.

I've had very good service in this area over the last few years with AT&T. Service works fine almost everywhere I go in Whatcom County, including Everson. There may be weak spots but I don't notice them much. Works up to Vancouver too (though I don't use it in Canada due to roaming charges). I canceled my plan thinking I could easily switch to another carrier but now hear that not every carrier works in this area. I'll try Verizon (through Page Plus Cellular---they are a reseller) as my next choice. I hear Verizon is good in this area too. If not, guess I'll have to go back to AT&T.

Sometimes less than one bar. Hilly country challenges transmission but tower not sited for best coverage of population Bruce

Alltel

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Birchwood, Bellingham, WA 98225 |

I have an Ohio number and still get great reception out here in WA, I don't know if Alltel is big around here but it works great for me, I just need to look into getting a WA number now. My mom tends to complain that she can't always understand what I'm saying, but I think she wouldn't be able to understand me even if I was talking to her in person.

I live behind comcast, very little reception inside, when I answer, calls are quickly droppped. Very disappointed with AT&T / Cingular. Guess I'm better off with a landline.

Verizon

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | WWU Campus | Parks Hall, Bellingham, WA 98225 |

Although the Verizon bars often indicate full coverage in WWU buildings, calls do not go out nor do they come in. But, if I arrive on campus while on the phone, the call stays connected. This is likely not a tower issue but a bandwidth issue with 10000 students using cell phones there are not enough channels. If I leave my phone on in any building, the battery quickly dies as it tries and tries to maintain contact. Each transmission costs charge. "How many Bars" is not the only issue!

Spotty at best. Not dependable. Had to get a home phone.

AT&T

ATT is worthless in northern washington, out toward anacortes I could be stranded without reception. Driving anywhere on any highway I would always get dropped calls. I didn't realize life outside Verizon could be that horrible. Needless to say I quit within 30 days so I wouldn't be locked into contract. In this area, Verizon is expensive, but you get what you pay for. VERIZON all the way.

Little to no coverage down here below the I-5 freeway. One would think there would be coverage within a stone's throw of a major freeway and inside the city limits.

5 Out of 5 (5 stars) | Guide Meridian | Near Costco, Bellingham, WA 98226 |

Verizon is expensive, but I drive all over Bellingham and live near Costco. I do not have any issue with the reception. That being said, I am on this site because I want to leave Verizon for a cheaper plan elsewhere.
