Really poor Verizon coverage up at Sky Meadows and a ton of us have Verizon! We were told by Verizon that it is because Verizon can't control the "Extended Network" carrier, but when we have poor coverage on their network, they want to know. They said our area is on the edge between the two. So, we are supposed to call their support number and open a ticket to let them know when their coverage is bad, so they can see how many people it impacts. So all you Verizon customers in South Cle Elum - get online and start raising hell!

I have been with AT&T since the first cell phones in the late 80's. I have always had good to fair coverage in the Cle Elum area to my home in the beginning of the Teanaway road. Within the last month, the coverage has dropped to almost no bars and impossible conversations. If it doesn't improve, I'll have to find another carrier soon. I am so irritated.

Verizon has it's "Extended Network" in this area, which works here. I get reception here! I'll stick with Verizon until someone in this area can put up a tower closer with better reception.

Nextel is really nice when it comes to you telling them that you want to leave them then they give you all of these free things. The reception is nice in Cle Elum but the walkie-talkie between my dads and my phone is really bad. Their hybrid phones suck between normal walkie talkie phones and hybrid phone walkie talkie calls it breaks up. We want to switch to verizon.

Cingular shows this area is covered with "best" coverage on their maps, but there is no reception in this area until you get onto highway 970

Boy was I surprised, I left Cingular after they REALLY Screwed up my billing and it took months to get it fixed. I finally paid the fee and left them. Went to Verizon and was surprised to drop calls in many spots along the I90 corridor. I have a travel trailer on bullfrog road and could NOT keep reception while inside the RV, if I stepped outside sometimes it would stay but usually not. The problem was that it would switch between the Verizon network and the "extended network". This spot is but maybe a mile or two from I90 and right next to the town of Roslyn and ony two miles from Cle Elum, very poor signal quality, and dropped calls. I was also told that the broadband card would work for my laptop and, although it did work the speeds were MUCH slower than dial up and unacceptable for someone trying to complete on-line coursework. People I work with have the same problem with Sprint / Nextell but Cingular seems to have a good signal there.
