FYI, the only decent service on south Whidbey is through ATT. We've had Nextel / Sprint as well as Verizon. If you spend most of your time on the south end of the island then you'll want ATT. If you're mostly off island then Verizon has the best coverage over most major cities.

Nextel seems to work ok on most of Whidbey, but on the south the signal is sucked up and disappears. Talked to Nextel, no help. They're spending big bucks to get public safety off 800 mhz, but can't provide decent service to south whidbey.

I can only get reception if I stay perfectly still in one or two spots at our cabin- otherwise it drops right off. My phone is constantly roaming when I'm driving. Neighbor has Verizon and she can walk up and down the beach while talking so we'll probably switch to that.

Can't get reception half the time inside, calls are dropped frequently, reception blinks on and off even when the phone is just sitting on the table so calls are missed.
