Had no problems making calls in Ephrata. Once you get outside of Ephrata Signal strengh on the phone dropped to around 1 bar of signal but I still could make calls with no problem and none of them dropped. I traveled between Wenatchee, Ephrata, and Moses lake and was always able to use my phone when needed.

I have used Sprint, Verizon and AT&T services over the last 3 years in the Ephrata area. Overall, I recommend Sprint over Verizon or AT&T because Sprint has a larger coverage area in the Ephrata area. I have been able to make calls with my Sprint phone that otherwise were not possible with Verizon or AT&T. I would say that Sprint is average in service compared to the other two and dropped calls are still irritating regardless of carrier. However, 7pm nights and weekends for no extra charge and the extended coverage area sets Sprint ahead of the pack.

Verizon Wireless is definitally the way to go in washington and every other area of the united states in fact I would definitally recommend Verizon. CDMA coverage is much better (what Verizon uses) than gsm (what T-Mobile and Cingular use)
