Poor to no reception in the house. Outside calls dropped when I walk around. The service tech visited and confirmed, but assured in a few years there would be another tower to fix the problem. Just wanted me to keep paying for lousey service.

We're in cell hell on this street, or at least at our house. Had Cingular / ATT service when we moved here. Virtually no reception, so we changed to Sprint. Only slightly better (1-2 bars), but that's an improvement when the alternative was zero! Still a few dropped calls now and then. Even our Clearwire service is weak. You would think that 10,000+ (and growing) residents next to an 85,000 population city would warrant better coverage than we have.

Number of bars is not significant, signal strength is. I only get a -87db (-50db is a strong signal). The closest Verizon towers are 5 miles away to the south (south of Slater Rd.) and 10 miles away to the northwest (on Pipeline Rd.). That is almost fifteen miles between towers on the freeway... not acceptable. Verizon keeps raising fees for various services but does nothing to increase coverage. What good are the services (Broadband / Data) if they don't have the coverage to deliver them? I suspect there is not a high enough subscriber base in this area for them to care about. The area is pretty technologically challenged all the way around... high speed internet users / wireless acces / wired companies and public agencies, etc. Maybe with the coming Olympics in 2010 things will change a bit.

Reception on our Cingular service sucks. Dropped calls all of the time. Phone shows roam all over washington state. Cingular is awful.
