AT&T

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | South Bay Area / Lemon Rd.NE | 36Ave NE, Olympia, WA 98506 |

After using Verizon for years we finally decided we were tired of having virtually NO service in our neighborhood, but good service during our daily I-5 commutes. Being able to use our iPhones from home didn't seem too much to ask. Costco phone reps promised if AT&T didn't perform better we could have a do over. We were pleasantly surprised to find AT&T provides good home reception. A total shock as the South Bay / Woodard Bay areas are notoriously "dead" areas. We haven't--- but we could-- totally get rid of our landline. Is there another carrier that provides the same service for this area less? Consumer Cellular? Opinions?

AT&T

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Jubilee | Canton Ave.NE and Orcas St. NE, Olympia, WA 98516 |

The only thing consistent about ATT is, "SEARCHING", TEXTS DON'T SEND, DROPPED CALLS and customer service reps that say their service works fine in the area. Anyone got a better idea?

T-Mobile

2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | Boston Harbor Rd. | 74th, Olympia, WA 98506 |

I just switched to T-Mobile from Verizon. Verizon wouldn't help by even providing me a booster (free wanted me to pay them $200 for a booster) to receive coverage so I switched to T-Mobile. Saving me $$$ 60. a month but coverage is still really marginal in the Boston Harbor (Marina) area. Wish a cell tower would happen soon. In California their cell towers are Brown poles with Green fake limbs instead of tall silver eye soars. Has anyone thought of using that here in Washington State? We might have less resistance from communities and more towers. May have to resort to reinstalling my land line... ..

Verizon

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Residence on Cherrywood Dr. SW, Olympia, WA 98502 |

Often only one bar utilizing an iPhone 5s from my residence, which is 1.3 miles away from the mall and 3.8 miles away from the WA state capitol building. Calls often dropped or unable to connect at all. It's absurd, considering my location. Verizon typically has superior coverage by my experience.

T-Mobile

2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | Olympia Mall, Olympia, WA 98502 |

I am giving T-Mobile a below average review because the coverage is only great if you live in Metro area. Soon as you leave city you are in trouble. I used to have T-Mobile and fiercely defended them but after years of T-Mobile making promises that coverage would get better for me I finally just left. I have AT&T now and I have not only superior coverage but I have 4G and LTE everywhere even out of town. That said I can’t recommend T-Mobile unless you live in the city and never leave town. T-Mobile I hope you are listening, if you don't have the towers then at least work on better roaming agreements. In Washington much of the areas you don't cover are covered by AT&T. IDEA, you could close the gaps with roaming agreements temporarily while you invest into better reception for the rural areas. NOTE to listeners don’t be fool by T-Mobiles low plans. Prepaid providers like Cricket Wireless uses AT&T and offers cheap plans plus you get the great coverage unlike T-Mobile, it’s kind of a no-brainer.

T-Mobile

2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | West Olympia, Olympia, WA 98502 |

T mobile service is good if your in the city limits but soon as you leave be prepared to drop to 2G service and have bad reception. Had T-Mobile service for several years and every time I called they said the service was about to get better, that was two years ago and they for the most part here in Washington are still using 2G. For GOD sakes T-Mobile get with it covering little slivers of areas in the state doesn't get it done. I just recently switch to AT&T and it was the best thing I every did, price is a bit more but it just WORKS and even in my rural area in Thurston County I get 4G strong every where. Oh wait T-Mobile is still on 2G! Don't believe what T-Mobile sales reps tell you they are only upgrading towers in the major city areas. Here is Washington T-Mobile is not a good choice unless you live in town and never leave.

MetroPCS

5 Out of 5 (5 stars) | By LBA Park | Hoffman and Morse-Merriman, Olympia, WA 98501 |

I transferred from Verizon after over four years with Verizon. Was paying $190 a month for three phones. Now I pay $100 a month for four phones. Service with Verizon was better in some places in town, but not in my house. Metro PCS is actually better with 4 bars. Considering the over all value, I'm a happy customer.
