Was told by AT&T that coverage should be great in Olympia. They then asked if there were some trees in the area. I answered yes and the 'customer service' person said that if there are trees nearby they can't guarantee coverage. Since we live in the Evergreen State, why do they not tell you that when you sign up? Don't waste your time with this ridiculous company.

changed from the storm2, had Verizon for years, wanted to try the iphone3gs, had AT&T years ago, I remember why I changed but the sales person at the capitol mall says AT&T will be putting up more towers this year, and fixing the problem, fingers are crossed.

I once had Verizon and had spotty service while driving out to my home from the freeway and while at home. I switched to AT&T! Got an iPhone and will never look back! Good service driving on road and at home.

Bad hum with Cingular / ATT wireless. Could be because I dropped the handset too many times.

I get one bar and if I hold my right leg up and dance on my left while raising the phone in the air, I might get 2-3 bars. Haven't figured out how to carrying on a conversation though. My dad visited us here and he uses Verizon and got great reception all the time. P.S. Customer service for Cingulair has been very poor.

A pity this great phone had to go to such a horrible company. Around town of Chelhalis I get some coverage but when I get farther out I have Nothing. I think Cingular only owns 1 Tower in this entire area.

We just bought a house in Beachcrest (Beverly Dr. NE) in Lacey, WA. We signed up for a two year contract with Cingular wireless and have been very happy with the reception while we lived in an apartment in Tumwater, WA. Now we find out we have NO reception at our new house. There is Verizon reception, but not Cingular. Now what do we do?

Cingular reception has been excellent. We use our cells at home, opting not to use LAN line phones. So, reception and clarity are very important to us. Compared to Verizon, the reception and clarity are a vast improvement! Of course, one must keep in mind that at home, we are not too far from a Cingular tower. Regardless, everywhere we go in the Olympia to Seattle area, we are quite happy with the service that Cingular has provided.
