To the person 5 comments below. I am sorry to hear about your problems with verizon. I am also confused that you received such cruddy service. I have been a verizonwireless customer for over 10 years and any time I have an issue they go above and beyond to help me. I a few months ago, my daughter got ahold of my phone and racked up almost 1000 minutes of overages totaling a bill that was close to $500, I called and spoke to a customer service rep (I was on hold less than a minute) I explained my problem and she upgraded my plan to cover the overages, backdated the plan start date so that I did not incur an additional service change fee, and waived the new plan fee for me. All in all, my bill for that month cost me an extra 29.99 wich was the difference per month for the plan that covered the additional minutes. The next month I called and had them lower my plan back down to what it was before, wich they did for no charge. This is just 1 example of the extraordinary customer service that I have received from Verizon over the years. Prehaps you do not present your situation to them in a calm manner? Customer service people are people also, and can be difficult if you choose to be difficult. I would be frustrated as well for the fees you had, however I am willing to bet that had I had the problem you did, I would have gotten it resolved in a way that was much more benificial to me. Its all about people skills :) For the sake of this forum, I can report excellent service from Verizon in the omak / okanagan area. I use my cell phone as a wireless tether for broadband internet access and I could not be more happy with the results. I canceled my broadband internet provider and strictly use my cell phone as a wifi hotspot to provide my home and a neighbor with internet access. A few towers are needed between major towns, but all in all, Verizon has a dominant presence here for cell coverage.

I live right behind the Omak Feed Store and I get 5 bars of Service with Verizon. In fact all over Omak I get great service. I get some service down at Omak Lake depending on wich rock I stand on. I get service all the way up to conconully but not inside the town. However just west of the town I get great service. I get SOME service in Okanagon National Forest. When traveling from omak to Grand Coulee I lose service on the pass, but then get it back again just after nespelem. I get service from grand coulee all the way to spokane. On US 97 going north, I lose service around riverside, but then pick it up again until almost to tonasket, then lose it again. We need a cell tower in between Omak and Tonasket. Conconully could use a cell tower, as well as the US 20 towards winthrop / twisp. I am extreamly happy with my serivce from verizon. I have been a customer for almost 10 years.

My husband has a Cingular (samsung) phone and he gets coverage. But I do not. WHY

I get reception outside of house. We had new Pella windows put in entire house, even with the blinds open, I can not use my cell phone, I have to put an magnetic car antenne on outside of house / kitchen window, It is a PAIN having to be hooked up to a cord not being able to use phone mobile... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... They (Verizon) gave me 3 phones trying to get reception, nothing worked, they said windows couldnt cause problem... ... ... but they did, 3 years before cell phone worked in house with no trouble. If I need to use cell for computer technician, I will have to dangle antenna outside of window, (I havent tried this hope it will work)
