i live right off Maple Valley Highway, on 5th St. SE - by the golf course. get great reception on Maple Valley Hwy. - shoddy on my block. i've been told that I live less than 1 mile from a tower, but I don't get good reception in my house, and outside, it's a crapshoot.

I was under the old AT&T GSM for awhile and had excellent reception. I wanted a new phone so I migrated over to Cingular. I was kinda worried at first about the reception but so far it has been great. I usually get between 4 and 5 bars at most of the places I go (around Renton, downtown Seattle, West Seattle, Bellevue... )

I'm an AT&T customer whose service was acquired by Cingular in the merger. I'm still using the phone I originally purchased from AT&T, but I am continuously having dropped calls and poor reception. New Cingular customers seem to be having better reception in this area when they use new Cingular phones.

No or very poor reception except for a few areas in the house.

Reception at our house is very poor, usally 1 reception bar. If we walk up to Lake Youngs Elem. school reception goes up a couple of bars. Had T-Mobile before. also here and reception was just as poor.

I am not sure what has happened to Cingular this past month. They used to be great in the Seattle and surrounding areas, but for the last 3 weeks they have gone down in a bad way. I am in outside sales and am on the road in the Seattle area daily. I now am constantly getting BAD reception and I am not sure why. If it is not fixed really really soon, I will drop Cingular as fast as my calls are being dropped. T-Moblie was the same way a year ago in the Tacoma area and that was why I switched to Cingular. My phone is my greatest tool for keeping in contact with my client base and it needs to work.

My calls are continuously dropped as I exit 405 for Kennydale and I have extremely poor reception at my home on North 29th. My phone is basically unusable for calling to and from home.

Reception adequate at shopping centre up Petroviski to the west, drops heading east to unusable. There is a cell tower not far away, carrier unknown. This location is Renton highlands - beware that some carrier databases claim there is no reception in Renton whereas in fact in most of Renton there is.

Generally runs 3 bars on the top floor surrounded by windows. Occassionally goes up to 4 bars but right now is going from 0-2 while sitting in the same spot on my desk. Also must say I hate their text message network. It's slow and the message doesn't just pop up like on my friends networks (SMS) - you have to download it and open it as if it were an email.

I live in the luxury apartments between Boeing and Coulon Park on Lake Washington. At home I have to dangle over a balcony and have everyone within earshot listen to my conversaion, if I can get a signal. Rarely do I get reception in my home. None in my garage. Everyone else who has Verizon seems to get good reception. I called Nextel twice. They said any phone carrier has problems near the water. Not true for everyone else here. Called a third time and they said they could nothing. I'm going to try Verizon. Way cheaper rates with Verizon than Nextel. One would think they would want their reception to go to a large park full of people and the Renton Boeing plant.
