I was under the old AT&T GSM for awhile and had excellent reception. I wanted a new phone so I migrated over to Cingular. I was kinda worried at first about the reception but so far it has been great. I usually get between 4 and 5 bars at most of the places I go (around Renton, downtown Seattle, West Seattle, Bellevue... )

Had Cingular before and reception was great. Can't get a signal with T-Mobile. My wife switched us to T-Mobile and I missed the cancelation period thus was stuck with not being able to get a signal at home for a whole year! Called T-Mobile numerous times and they refused to waive cancelation fees. Recommendation: don't use T-Mobile, the signal is too weak in most areas especially with hills and the staff is inconsiderate.

Rarely get more than 1 bar here, spotty reception. I call Verizon and they say everything should be OK. Other people's phones from other carriers get several bars at my location. My phone gets good reception elsewhere. Verizon refuses to admit there's a hole in their map.

I live in an apartment building with a tower right around the corner (about 1 blk away). I usually have only 1 bar when I'm at home. My phone has had 2 really weird moments (temporary, about 5-10 min duration) where I couldn't receive or make a call for no apparent reason. I have not called T-Mobile about it mostly because I know that buildings / indoor situations can cause problems for the weaker-than-analog Digital signals. I have thought about switching carriers but I REALLY don't want to sign a 2-year contract when the companies just don't stay consistent in ownership OR signal coverage. My advice to people who have complained with no improvement: Demand to be let out of your contract immediately. It IS their fault, don't let them tell you it's yours because you can't hang off your balcony far enough. Ultimately if there is no signal at your home / office, it's breach of contract on their part. They MUST let you out with no penalty because they aren't holding up their end of the bargain.

I'm an AT&T customer whose service was acquired by Cingular in the merger. I'm still using the phone I originally purchased from AT&T, but I am continuously having dropped calls and poor reception. New Cingular customers seem to be having better reception in this area when they use new Cingular phones.

Sucky! I have had T-Mobile for a long time and it works great in the city, but I don't get squat at home. I have talked to T-Mobile people and promises were made to improve the situation. That was 2 years ago. Recently had a friend over and his Cingular had 3-4 bars or higher once you step outside. I'm done waiting!

The moment I walk up to my house I lose reception. Extremely spotty service, even though Verizon has a tower less than half a block away. Also have poor service in grocery stores or any other kind of building for that matter.

There is a dead spot when I am heading toward Fairwood. My calls always drop when I go by the water tower.
