I was under the old AT&T GSM for awhile and had excellent reception. I wanted a new phone so I migrated over to Cingular. I was kinda worried at first about the reception but so far it has been great. I usually get between 4 and 5 bars at most of the places I go (around Renton, downtown Seattle, West Seattle, Bellevue... )

1 / 2 mile south of Valley Medical Ctr-- Avg 3-4 bars (out of 5) on bottom floor. Occasionally dips down to 2 bars but for the most part it's pretty steady. But they told me it wouldn't work at my location so I had to do some grunt work... I signed up with my home address for the billing address, but I said that my (home) service address was... . Well, basically I lived in a grocery store. :) Then I chatted online and they changed it no prob.

Cell phone reception is ok with 2 - 3 bars and I don't get any dropped calls but battery life is shortened due to the low signal. There is no 4G like the Sprint map says, inside or out. You get 4G about a half mile up the road in Fairwood. Sprint needs to get LTE implented and stop passing off the old technology Clearwire as 4G. 4G on Sprint only works good when you right next to a tower. I would suspect within a few hundred yards, line of site. But my cell phone plan is so cheap with unlimited data that I overlook the shortcomings. Nothing beats $70 / month on a EVO 3D.

I kept dropping calls while at home so I looked this up: "How to Get Better Cell Phone Reception with Verizon" on eHow. so pressing *22899 updates the nearby towers It seems like I have much better reception, now I usually have 2-3 bars.

Generally runs 3 bars on the top floor surrounded by windows. Occassionally goes up to 4 bars but right now is going from 0-2 while sitting in the same spot on my desk. Also must say I hate their text message network. It's slow and the message doesn't just pop up like on my friends networks (SMS) - you have to download it and open it as if it were an email.

Poor reception in the house. Number of bars vary from 1 - 3. Impressed with the current T-Mobile coverage map for my location, so I'm thinking about changing to T-Mobile.

There's a cell phone tower only 2 blocks away, but it's not Sprint. Sucks!
