Even with a booster, signal strength is marginal and not reliable. A tower is needed to cover the area on and around Curlew Lake. Rd.conditions in the winter could put someone at risk with not being able to contact help. In the summer, the population grows with vacationers and summer residences around the lake. These people come from all over but alot have Verizon and are unable to use it unless they drive to Republic. Verizon's claim of having better coverage is not true, we need more towers in this area.

We put Verizon in in Oct. and they added so many "extra costs" that we never asked for. We took "Wire maintenance" off and then changed plans because the one we have wasn't suitable to our needs. During Christmas, we made an international call and they changed us $3.28 cents a minute!, even though they have an international plan that is only.7cents a minute and $3 a month. I called to complain and they said we should have signed up for the plan. I said don't ya think we would have if someone had told us that we would be charge $3.28 a minute! No one ever gave us their international rates and this was our first call. The total was $101.15! for a 35 minute call to England. (I pay 4 cents with "Ooma" here in the Seattle Area) I asked him to cut THE ONE CALL in half and he wouldn't. We have a business acct. (Over 10 years with them) and 2 resident lines with Verizon. I'm now going to cancel the business and residential, but unfortunately we have no other phone options in Curlew.! I'm thinking about contacting "GET JESSE" to see what Verizon has to say to the news media. In these tough economic times, businesses should be more understanding and receptive. (AND I WAITED 50 MINS ON HOLD FOR THIS SUPERVISOR TOO) In the meantime, I've found another long distance company that can provide my long distance calls in Curlew- It is "Total Call" and they charge 4 cents a minute! Now if I could only get away from Verizon completely. BUYER BEWARE AND ASK EVERY QUESTION IMAGINABLE... ... ... ... ..BECAUSE THEY CERTAINLY WON'T OFFER THE REQUIRED INFORMATION

Coverage for the Curlew Lake area is non-exsistant. I have cell phone and internet access through Verizon but as they are no use to me in that area, I'm considering dumping the services. I will now have to buy land line phone services and another internet provider that serves the area. Poo-Poo on Verizon's vast coverage advertisement! What's that line they use, "We Have You Covered"??

I get good reception when in Republic, Washington, but cell phone reception is truly sad at our home near Curlew Lake. I can connect to outside numbers and hear the respondent answer, but they can't hear me. So frustrating.

I get no reception on West Curlew Lake Rd. so my phone is useless unless I drive at least 8 mi. from home. No signal with external antenna either. Please put more towers in this area as we have severe Winters and this road is one of the worst during Winter. A cell phone might save a life.

I get 1.5 - 2 bars but 1 bar after connected. This phone sucks. Another problem is the screen; it blanks out too early and almost invisible in indirect sunlight.
