I have a dropped call at least once a day in the West Seattle / Downtown Seattle areas. In our household, we were with two other major national carriers before we consolidated with AT&T, and we never had the same issues with those other carriers as we do with AT&T. Highly disappointed -- even considering paying the termination fee to get out of our contracts.

Phinney Ridge / NW 74th St., Seattle, WA 98117 Thu Oct 06, 2011

Our experience with ATT on Phinney Ridge has been awful with a low level of connectivity as a baseline. Everyday with ATT we get messages like "Cannot access Cellular Data Network", "Call Failed", "Update Failed" or "Server is not responding". I have called my partner's phone in the same room and gone straight to VM. Calls to my phone but not ringing on my phone, and instead going straight to VM is a regular occurence. A month ago I had to try 13 consecutive times to call a local business from my living room in suburban Seattle. After finally getting through, ATT dropped the call within 2 minutes. I can be in the front yard, back yard, in the house, walking around the nieghborhood - doesn't matter. It's bad. When you call AT&T customer service they tell you there are towers all around us so we should have good service. They have to know this is a near-dead zone, right? Friends with iPhones on Verizon who visit our house always get great service.

Horrible reception in North Admiral with AT&T and the iPhone 3G and 3GS. I drop almost EVERY CALL! AT&T claims that I should have great reception in my area. It's been going on for 2 years now, with no improvement.

Bars are constantly changing between 3 and 5. Regardless on number of bars I get poor reception with garbled calls and many dropped calls. Often I move to upper level of house to get better reception.

Horrible. We got rid of land line yrs ago and recently switched to AT&T family plan. Calls drop all the time. At least once a day. One phone doesn't even catch the txt msgs I send. Voicemail doesn't even get received til hours later. I'll be switching back to T-Mobile as soon as possible.

If you're expecting a call, or making a call, switch to the Edge network, it takes seconds to toggle between Edge and 3G. I never drop calls while on Edge, plus it greatly reduces battery usage. To utilize Edge go to: settings;general;network;Enable or disable 3G - it literally takes seconds to toggle between 3G and Edge, no big deal, iPhone users, I assure you, you'll notice a positive difference while on the Edge network, when done talking go to 3G. For whatever reason Edge greatly reduces dropped calls. No biggie to switch between edge and 3G, the tricky part is making sure to have the phone on Edge if you're expecting a call, other than that, business as usual, just switch back to 3G.

Sprint let me out of my contract and got AT&T. I couldn't be happier my calls actually go through and the internet loads quickly. Thank God!

Reception in the Broadview lowlands is poor for all providers. ATT is the only one who has any signal, and it's poor.

Horrible reception at two spots on Hwy. 99 along the Seattle Waterfront. I drop calls there every day. Heading North on 99 calls drop right about the ferry terminal and don't work until you pass outside of the tunnel.

Pretty much 5 bars and 3G anywhere in the UW, and around the city. Downtown 5 bars and 3G too, only in some hilly suburban areas do I encounter between 3-4 bars. Otherwise perfect!

Six feet from wall of windows in my office. Can't load web pages, stream music, or otherwise do anything that requires the data or cell network. Though the phone rings, I can't answer phone calls because they usually dropped immediately. Pathetic.

I must live near a tower, as reception is very strong when at home. 3G both upstream and downstream speeds are about as good as it gets. This varies though, a lot, on the rest of Capitol Hill. Something odd with my device though. It's an unlocked Windows Mobile unit and until recently, I used it with T-Mobile. Switched service after pre-ordering an iPhone 3GS and am using the HTC device until the iPhone arrives. Never had issues with it on T-Mobile, but when it's hooked up to AT&T, it randomly and spontaneously reboots itself :(

dropped calls often. 4 trys to really connect. Worse inside but even here on top of ridge poor coverage. Fade in and out on call. I call 611 and drop that call. They sort of believe me. I can see some towers from roof but can not call down the block. YIkes. My neighbors say 30th and Yesler house has bad call coverage even with T Mobile and Sprint. GAD

In the U District my 3G keeps dropping to 0 bars, then returning to full 5 bars. The Apple 'Genius' said that he has the same problems at the UW. When this happens, I can't use data, send / receive text messages, or send / receive calls. I constantly have calls go right to voicemail as well. I had no such problems when I had Verizon. I regret switching. I love my iPhone but AT&T 3G just sucks.

Lots of drop calls. No 3G (even though AT&T coverage shows 3G). Quality is terrible. Lots of missed calls and many attempts at re-dialing. No service. 2 bars usually, 3 bars if I'm outside, standing on a chair with plates balancing on sticks (kidding) but you get the picture.
