I am surprised by all the people getting great LTE coverage in Seattle. I work a few blocks from Pioneer Square, and my reception is horrendous. I live in the U District, and it's pretty bad there, too. I am not sure if it's Sprint or my iPhone, and I probably will never know. But the Sprint / iPhone combination is a major disappointment. Internet searches are so slow! And half the time my phone never rings; calls go straight to voicemail.

I have had major issues with Sprint in the last 7 months. I have called them 5 times with this issue of dropping calls in most areas of Seattle as of late. They said that they have been updating their towers. at one check they said that I have dropped 44% of my calls. a lot of them were from my house where I really get crappy service. After being with them for 20+ years finely said that I could get a air-port at my house that connects to the internet ( why they never told me this in the past I don't know ) so they sent me to the air-port operator to get my info. after being on hold for 10 min the person I talked to said that I would have to pay for it???? I told them that the customer service person said that it would be free but they said no but they did say that a manager would call if I wanted I said yes but I would be leaving Sprint! Well someone called me back in a few min and said that there was a mistake in on their part and they would send out the air-port right away and there would be no charge. Well it has showed up and now after 6 years od dropped calls here at my house it has stopped... ..but I still have been dropping calls a around the city but it seems to be better! If you are having issues at your home call them and they should send you this device and it works... .BUT you have to have a high speed internet to hook up to. I hope Sprint fixes their connective issues soon as they have great plans well at least the one I have and I will sty with them for now but Im only giving them the next year as I cant afford to drop calls around the city and that is their big issue for me. Hope this helps

Long story short, this is 2014 and I'm never off edge, a technology from 2003.

Verizon says that they have LTE everywhere and they do but it is SLOW AS HELL. I have trouble loading modern day webpages with them. My wife on AT&T has an iPhone 4 and her 3G is faster than my LTE. This is ridiculous.

Sprint used to SUCK. I have been with them since August 2013. I wanted to drop them until May. In May, Sprint turned on LTE everywhere here and it is really fast. Ignore all of the reviews about Sprint being bad because they have changed. I highly recommend them now.

Sprint

5 Out of 5 (5 stars) | Century Link Field, Seattle, WA 98134 |

I work by Century link field and he service here is excellent. I am on LTE all the time and have download speeds ranging from 10-60 Mbps on LTE. This is great for streaming video, something I do a lot. I am extremely happy I switched to Sprint because everything about them is better than T-Mobile.

I live in Seattle and work here too and I am almost always on LTE. I see 3G every once in a while which isn't very fast but it is decent. The LTE is amazing and I have seen speeds up to 70 Mbps! It's amazing.

This is BS. I switched from AT&T because I wanted to try someone new out and now I realize how big of a mistake it was. I am constantly staring at a little E at the top of my screen and cannot load a single damn page with this reception. I highly recommend that you do not switch to tmobile. You WILL be sorry.

I drop calls constantly with sprint! The only reason I've been with them for over 20 years is Sprint is the only carrier I know of that has unlimited internet..

The worst. Dropped calls almost every time, text messages that never come through, outgoing calls that won't go through. Infuriating.

Okay reception some of the time, but other times not so great. Seems to be average service. Not great but not terrible either.

Once in a while, I get dropped if I position myself with my refrigerator directly in between myself (and my phone) and the tower which is on a nearby building. Have overall great coverage for phone and data with iPhone 4s. I'm in Whistler, BC a lot so paying extra for phone service to / from Canada. It is worth it and great coverage, there, too. Usually, on Telus network but occasionaly Bell.

T-Mobile

I switched from AT&T because T-Mobile and after a month I'm thinking of switching back. The coverage is pathetic. Often the phone will barely get EDGE and won't get 3G. Even when it does get 3G there seems to be about 30 seconds of negotiation before HSDPA kicks in and that usually lasts for a few seconds before it starts drops to 3G and drops the connection. Speech is just as bad. I can barely get 1-2 bars of reception in most places and I've had more dropped calls in the last week than in a year with AT&T. They're cheap, but not worth it.

Had Sprint for more than a decade, and for the past 7 years I move to Seattle Area, and only probably 2 or 3 drop calls, Most if not all calls are clear no matter if it is local, international or worldwide. probably data is the only improvement they need to fix soon, since max speed I get here is 25 MB but many times I get higher. it might be the plan I am in or the phone which is GS5.

Verizon

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Queen Ann / Seattle Center, Seattle, WA 98119 |

I've been a Verizon customer for over a decade (T-Mobile before that) and I've never had any coverage issues with Verizon. I've maybe had 5 dropped calls in the 10 years I've been with them, but I can't even say for certain if I've had even 1. With the launch of their AWS spectrum, I'm now pulling upwards of 70Mb / s download speed. This is even faster than my wi-fi connection at work. And I work for a prominent technology company in Lower Queen Ann. A little pricey, yes; but I'd rather pay a little more for great coverage / data speeds than constantly worry about "dead zones."

Constant dropped calls and missed calls, even on 4G (when I can get it). Horrible. Have never had problems with Verizon before I got to Seattle. Very disappointed.

T-Mobile

2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | Seattle - Capitol Hill, Seattle, WA 98102 |

I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile because it was about $10 cheaper a month and provided free unlimited international texting and data and I was traveling abroad a lot. 1. International data is edge speed. Still better than nothing though and google maps saved me so many times so fine. Slow but free, I'll take it. 2. Domestic coverage around Seattle is THE WORST. I find myself staring at an "E" on the top left of my iphone. EDGE?? not even with my first iphone in 2008 did I see edge network unless I was traveling through bumpkin land. I walk to work, north along Melrose in Capitol Hill right by the 5 freeway and I can't get anything. Seriously, I am in the middle of Seattle, wide open, and no reception. My spotify stops playing, I can't check instagram, it is the WORST. (not really, but it's funny to be dramatic about 1st world problems). 3. I am constantly getting 2 and 3 bars which I almost never saw with AT&T which provided almost always 5 bars, sometimes 4. I'm sorry, I thought T-Mobile was HQed in the greater Seattle area in Factoria. 2 or 3 bars? Is this 2001? WTF mate. 4. So I am saving $10 a month, and I probably saved about $60 in international data roaming charges, but I am constantly dealing with data deadzones and a 300% increase in dropped calls. Worth it?? 5. When the iphone 6 drops, I am headed back to AT&T.
