I've been frequently left with no bars of service at my house, or else I'll have a few bars and it will cut out on me constantly while trying to talk. I spoke with Cingular this evening and they said that 5 towers within 10 miles of my house are broken and have no scheduled fix date. Thinking of switching to t-mobile

Nextel phone works great around the UW campus and surrounding areas. Inside very large buildings (Health Sciences, etc) can be trouble for voice / 2-way sometimes. Nextel's Blackberry push email delivery has been flawless in this area.

Either no reception at all or (pricey) roaming on Sprint from my street-level apartment. Got a T-Mobile phone and got zero reception. Trying Verizon next?

House has lots of windows and line-of-sight to harbor, W. Seattle Bridge and Downtown (just of Admiral Way). Very bad reception in a 2-block radius around neighborhood. Just had T-Mobile tower put up on Admiral... would be nice if Cingular did as well! Note: had worst problem with Sprint before switching last spring.

Horrendous reception. I can only make calls if I hang out window. When outside if I turn my head it drops. Repeatedly called cust service - they tell me I have perfect coverage.

I live by Group Health, and if I allow my phone to automatically select the network, I receive no reception. However, if I manually select network 31041 (Find the "Search for available networks" selection in your settings), I have full service at all time in this neighborhood.

Reception drops out during every single phone call made from home. Phone works fine in other locations, but it's tough to have an actual conversation from Beacon Hill.

I used to have a Verizon phone, and reception was weak for me in the Tangletown area, and I got many "too quiet" complaints and dropped calls. I recently got to try a Sprint phone (from Virgin Mobile), and it worked much better in this area!

Can't seem to have consistancy in holding my calls. Often have messages later with my phone not even having rung. Very disappointed with this service in this location.

It jumps back and forth between 1 and no bars. My wife has the same problem, also T-Mobile with her Motorola V300. We just bought a new house and can't use our phones! T-Mobile if you're watching this board, please help!

UW Campus - Quad / HUB, Seattle, WA 98105 Sun Aug 21, 2005

Reception throughout the UW campus, other than Red Square, is moderate to bad. I have more dropped calls walking through campus and Greek Row than anywhere else in Seattle. My recommendation: UW students should subscribe to a carrier other than Cingular.
