I live in a basement apartment and friends of mine who have Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile have to go outside to get a usable signal. With my V3 and Cingular, I get 5 bars and a clean call everytime without having to go outside or near a window.
I tried all the other companies. One of them never got reception even once! The others were Poor, One Bar, Two at best. That's because my building is concrete and I live in the shadow of KIRO-TV and CISCO; buildings with microwave dishes on their roofs. I calls this north end of Belltown a 'Concrete Canyon'. Since signing up with Verizon four years ago, it's been smooth sailing from inside my apt! No dropped calls at all and crystal clear reception. How good is that? The only time I've ever had a dropped call has been from my car (parked, never driving) beside an industrial structure. Even then, I'm not sure if it's my cellular service's fault or the cellular service on the other end. Also, with only one exception, Verizon customer service has always treated me exceptionally well. I can't imagine that they are only rated #2. They always end calls by asking if there was anything they could improve upon and I let them know that it is a pleasure doing business with them.
Lousy, lousy reception. One bar on a good day. I called Verizon to complain and they said a tower was supposed to go up in the neighborhood. That was 1 -1 / 2 years ago. Now there's a cell tower finally going up, but I have no idea if it's a Verizon one or not.
Poor reception. Have had dropped calls and phone will switch to "extended network" and "searching for service" frequently. Talked with Verizon technical support who were nice, but not very helpful. My phone has most recent software updates and current roaming programming. Verizon still says it is probably my phone, but I am not so sure. My housemate switched from Verizon to Sprint because he had too many dropped calls. My boyfriend has Verizon and when he is at my house he also only has 1 bar of reception. Looking for new service provider, but it seems I've moved into a dead zone (based on reports i've read here) in the Greenwood, East Greenlake area.
Very bad. I have reception only in 1 room near the window. Check this site for tower location and you will see why. Apparently no one in Ballard needs a cell phone.
Horrible reception anywhere in my house. Can only dial out 1 out of 8 times. Rarely receive calls or texts inside the house. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Sister has Cingular also. She has same problem. Any other service works perfect in house. Verizon and Nextel work great.
3-7 bars inside concrete home, including basement. I've had really good consistent reception with T-Mobile for years just about everywhere in Seattle - including Capitol Hill, Madison Valley and Pioneer Square. Good customer service too. Reluctant to switch, but only Sprint and Verizon offer Treo 700p with EVDO.
