Tmobile is crap in northern Ballard. I used to live below 65th and never understood when friends complained about black holes of coverage in Ballard, but then I moved. My boyfriend has a crackberry (also tmobile) and has trouble at his house too, it's so frustrating. I'm not under contract any more and am looking into the choices.

I rarely ever have problems with my Verizon service no matter where I am in the Seattle Metro area. Verizon is a great service. I pay a bit more than I would with other company's plans, but it is entirely worth it.

Just in the last two weeks, I've been receiving dropped calls on EVERY call I make, as well as complaints from people on the other end that I am cutting out. My bars can range from 1 to 3 and this has never been a problem in the past. I hope that Verizon will fix it because I still have 5 months left on my contract and I can't even finish one cell call.

Six feet from wall of windows in my office. Can't load web pages, stream music, or otherwise do anything that requires the data or cell network. Though the phone rings, I can't answer phone calls because they usually dropped immediately. Pathetic.

I get 5 bars in my apartment always. I get a dead spot at my girlfriend's house up the road by Seward Park, but she has a separate carrier and also gets dead service in her house.

I must live near a tower, as reception is very strong when at home. 3G both upstream and downstream speeds are about as good as it gets. This varies though, a lot, on the rest of Capitol Hill. Something odd with my device though. It's an unlocked Windows Mobile unit and until recently, I used it with T-Mobile. Switched service after pre-ordering an iPhone 3GS and am using the HTC device until the iPhone arrives. Never had issues with it on T-Mobile, but when it's hooked up to AT&T, it randomly and spontaneously reboots itself :(

2 bars and consistently dropped calls, Sprint very unhelpful, states the phone is the issue, am eligible for upgrade in 20 days, they state they are unable to change that to rectify the problem, that I can use my insurance to get a refurbished phone to get thru the next few weeks. really don't seem to care about customer service

dropped calls often. 4 trys to really connect. Worse inside but even here on top of ridge poor coverage. Fade in and out on call. I call 611 and drop that call. They sort of believe me. I can see some towers from roof but can not call down the block. YIkes. My neighbors say 30th and Yesler house has bad call coverage even with T Mobile and Sprint. GAD

Great T-Mobile reception in the International District? Are you kidding me? I'm at the public library at 713 8th avenue south in the heart of the international district and my prepaid Samsung phone has NO SERVICE! I advise anyone to steer well clear of T-Mobile. Do not buy the hype! They are WORST provider in the industry. Steaming back from Alaska two years ago, middle of Gulf of Alaska, everybody has two or three bars but stupid T-Mobile. Run away from this company!

I haven't had a dropped call with Qwest since I bought the M1 2 years ago. Used to get dropped calls just north of the airport a few years ago but it seems to have improved. Too bad Qwest is discontinuing their cell phone service next fall.

Verizon drops all calls in / around my house. It does this for all Verizon phones. We use to have excellent reception and within the last month, it has gone to crap. Don't bother calling Customer Service- they won't do anything.

I have Verizon LG Dare for less than a month and AT&T Samsung A737 for over a year.(I have both Verizon and AT&T because of the nature of my job). after reading a comment about the poor reception in this location I went and checked it out because I was concerned about the Dare's performance. Here what I found:AT&T has a strong 3G reception in the five-six blocks radius,so I think you should have no problems with voice calls or high speed data connection. Verizon data EVDO reception is spotty, I had three bars on the corner of Trenton st. and 13 Ave sw, to no bars next to the school between 10th and 11th Ave sw.,Verizon 1X reception showed one to two bars on the Dare,(four bars mean full reception). Call quality on Verizon's LG was very good all the way cross sw Henderson st to Roxbury st., and downloading V-Cast videos rated fair using 1X connection, yesterday I was able to make calls in Mill Creek area with no bars. If you go to Verizon store inside S. Center Mall you'll see the reception(# of bars) varies from one phone to another even though they are next to each other!. thanks and good luck.

In the U District my 3G keeps dropping to 0 bars, then returning to full 5 bars. The Apple 'Genius' said that he has the same problems at the UW. When this happens, I can't use data, send / receive text messages, or send / receive calls. I constantly have calls go right to voicemail as well. I had no such problems when I had Verizon. I regret switching. I love my iPhone but AT&T 3G just sucks.
