I have been with Nextel for 4 years and have had nothing but poor service in the 2nd and Cedar area. This could be partly because we are shadowed by the KIRO building and I am in a room surrounded by concrete and multiple layers of drywall, but there are other providers (Verizom and sometimes Cingular / ATT) that work. I would like to give them a "0", but the other 25% of my day they work somewhat ok, so I rate them with "1"

Northeast Capitol Hill - 19th Ave E I have very strong reception on 19th Ave E near E Highland Dr. Things change quickly while driving south on 19th Ave E. Aloha is the beginning of The Dead Zone, which lasts until nearly Madison, I almost always drop calls here. Going north on 19th or 23rd towards SR-520 near Montlake, coverage improves near Boyer Ave E and remains very strong northward. But if you drift east on Boyer, the Dead Zone returns, all the way through Lake WA Blvd.north to SR-520,. Reception returns once you approach reach the SR-520 on-ramps.

I pull down better reception then the T-Mobile users, and the other AT&T user, which tells me reception has as much to do with the phone as the service. And I'm in a old, concrete basement apartment.

19th Ave.E. / Republican intersection, Seattle, WA 98112 Sat Jun 02, 2007

I get one or two bar, if any. Most of the times, I get no coverage in my apartment. Worse yet, people who call me have reported that they get the "subscriber out of calling area" message and not my voicemail. Complained to T-Mobile to no avail. At first I thought there is general interference with cell reception in my apartment, but my friends with Cingular have no problems at all. So I can either break my contract or move.
