I've never had a dropped call with T-Mobile in the Seattle area. I lived in the QA area and always had full bars, even in the basement of my building. Even out on the peninsula or in certain areas of eastern WA, I still have great reception. However, I do also usually buy phones that are known to have good reception. I lived on the east coast for a while and my Motorola phone dropped calls often but when I switched to a Samsung phone (while still living in the exact same area), never had a problem.

Don't know why everybody is hating on AT&T. I get 4-5 bars on my phone at all times.

My reception is perfect in this location but I have also never lost a call or was unable to make a call due to low reception anywhere in Seattle.

If you're expecting a call, or making a call, switch to the Edge network, it takes seconds to toggle between Edge and 3G. I never drop calls while on Edge, plus it greatly reduces battery usage. To utilize Edge go to: settings;general;network;Enable or disable 3G - it literally takes seconds to toggle between 3G and Edge, no big deal, iPhone users, I assure you, you'll notice a positive difference while on the Edge network, when done talking go to 3G. For whatever reason Edge greatly reduces dropped calls. No biggie to switch between edge and 3G, the tricky part is making sure to have the phone on Edge if you're expecting a call, other than that, business as usual, just switch back to 3G.

Coverage is near perfect at my condo. And it seems that the coverage just got better. I used to lose calls when I was in the underground garage but now that doesn't even happen.

Sprint let me out of my contract and got AT&T. I couldn't be happier my calls actually go through and the internet loads quickly. Thank God!

I rarely ever have problems with my Verizon service no matter where I am in the Seattle Metro area. Verizon is a great service. I pay a bit more than I would with other company's plans, but it is entirely worth it.

I get 5 bars in my apartment always. I get a dead spot at my girlfriend's house up the road by Seward Park, but she has a separate carrier and also gets dead service in her house.

I must live near a tower, as reception is very strong when at home. 3G both upstream and downstream speeds are about as good as it gets. This varies though, a lot, on the rest of Capitol Hill. Something odd with my device though. It's an unlocked Windows Mobile unit and until recently, I used it with T-Mobile. Switched service after pre-ordering an iPhone 3GS and am using the HTC device until the iPhone arrives. Never had issues with it on T-Mobile, but when it's hooked up to AT&T, it randomly and spontaneously reboots itself :(

I haven't had a dropped call with Qwest since I bought the M1 2 years ago. Used to get dropped calls just north of the airport a few years ago but it seems to have improved. Too bad Qwest is discontinuing their cell phone service next fall.

I want to dislike Qwest's service. Their phone selection is very limited and they seem like a wannabe service. But I've got to say, I never have a problem getting an adequate signal anywhere in Seattle. I can't remember the last time I had a dropped call. Now, ask me about Qwest service between Olympia and anywhere on the Washington Coast, and I'll tell you it's lousy, really horrible. ATT seems to be the best out there.

I live two blocks from the lake. I have perfect reception always in our area. Calls never drop - I wouldn't use any other service. I use my cell exclusively at my home - reception is perfect even sitting in my bedroom. My boyfriend has Qwest and his calls drop all the time - it drives him crazy!

Northeast Capitol Hill - 19th Ave E I have very strong reception on 19th Ave E near E Highland Dr. Things change quickly while driving south on 19th Ave E. Aloha is the beginning of The Dead Zone, which lasts until nearly Madison, I almost always drop calls here. Going north on 19th or 23rd towards SR-520 near Montlake, coverage improves near Boyer Ave E and remains very strong northward. But if you drift east on Boyer, the Dead Zone returns, all the way through Lake WA Blvd.north to SR-520,. Reception returns once you approach reach the SR-520 on-ramps.
