Phone Model:
Samsung Vibrant
University District, Seattle, WA 98105 Wed Dec 14, 2011

I've never had a call drop with T-Mobile, but since I got my Samsung Vibrant I have been having problems where there are just swaths of time where I have no network service, it's happened about 5-6 times in as many months and it's very annoying because I can't send texts or make calls. I'm assuming this has something to do with all the 3G / 4G bs, which is annoying because you can't get a phone that just texts and calls anymore. Other than that I usually have decent service in the city and spotty service outside of it. The only place I don't seem to get service in the U District is in Trader Joe's.

Bars are constantly changing between 3 and 5. Regardless on number of bars I get poor reception with garbled calls and many dropped calls. Often I move to upper level of house to get better reception.

Phone Model:
Apple iPhone 3G
UW, Seattle, WA 98105 Fri Jan 30, 2009

In the U District my 3G keeps dropping to 0 bars, then returning to full 5 bars. The Apple 'Genius' said that he has the same problems at the UW. When this happens, I can't use data, send / receive text messages, or send / receive calls. I constantly have calls go right to voicemail as well. I had no such problems when I had Verizon. I regret switching. I love my iPhone but AT&T 3G just sucks.

Generally good reception in most areas except Broadview. That's odd as it is one of the highest areas of the city. Here at home the reception is weather-dependent, usually fine, occasionally spotty with a dropped call once in a great while.

Phone works perfect outside but not always as reliable inside especially in the basement. Happy with customer service and contract.

Depending how close I am to the balcony, sometimes I get two and sometimes three bars.

Pretty good reception with a few small dead spots. Occasionally the phone will notify me of a new voicemail after the phone never rang in the first place. I can hear the reception come in and out as I walk around my apartment. Its a lot better than my old T-Mobile phone though. Remember, reception has as much to do with the PHONE as it does with the service. Verizon's customer service is amazing! However, I might switch to Sprint because I want a phone they offer. They are both CDMA networks so it might be possible to use an unlocked Sprint phone on Verizon. Thats what I hope for anyway.

Can't seem to have consistancy in holding my calls. Often have messages later with my phone not even having rung. Very disappointed with this service in this location.

Reception here in the apartment building is just average on the 1st and 2nd floors, but it's better than my friends. They have no signal with "T-Mobile" and "Sprint".

The reception on this phone ranges from no reception to full reception, depending on what mood it is in. I have come to the conclusion though that it is more the phone then the carrier, as I had another model with the same plan and it always worked flawlessly. Long story short, stay away from Motorola!
