The Pt. Defiance area competes with Vashon cell towers. Reception is terrible.

Cingular must have put more towers up because I consistantly get 4-6 bars in my house now. I used to have to lean over my desk to talk and even that was iffy. Once in awhile, I'll be in a dead spot and get static, but it's much better now than in the past. Service is good when I am out and about too. I just upgraded to an LG CG225 and hope the coverage is as good.

Works good outside or inside if my head is next to a window. Lots of cutting out and dropped calls inside. Going with some one else. I had Verizon but their Bluetooth implementation is immasculated. It did work in my house though.

I was so used to not being able to talk on my phone in the upstairs of my home with Verizon that I am still delighted to be able to do so with Cingular. Coverage all over the Northeast Tacoma area is far superior to Verizon. The only weak spot I've found is on Browns Point Blvd.near 33rd where I have lost a call twice, though not every time I go through there.

I have to forward my cell phone to my home phone before I get in my home. Only way to get calls and avoid the ETF fee

I have had AT&T TDMA, Sprint, and AT&T GSM... I now have Nextel for the nice Direct Connect Feature Nationwide to able to stay in communication with my wife as well as the home office. Direct Connect is unlimited and free, so you waste no cell minutes. The coverage is incredible for both walkie talkie and cellular. I couldn't be happier. Nextel has a slogan of which I fully agree with. Done.

Qwest was perfect in Tacoma to and from Tukwila along I-5, then we moved to Fife and have horrible service..dropped calls continually. Seems like after reading all the comments, Fife is bad for every carrier. We had Cingular prior and cancelled our contract (yes, we paid early termination fees) because they were absolutely the worst in the Tukwila to Tacoma commute. Dropped calls constantly. Frusterating. Seems like there should be some sort of law against keeping us in contract even when the service they provide is sub-par.
