Took a lot if crap because I was the only one they had to keep asking to repeat myself on a recent conference call. I called Verizon technical support and they told me they have a tower 1.05 miles north of my location. Optimum signal strength is -60 to -80 dBm for cell voice calls. I constantly have between -94 to -110. (Obviously, higher negative numbers reflect worse signal strength). The technician said my problem is that I am inside a building. Great! All I have to do to be able to carry on a conversation on Verizon is go stand in the rain. A little over a mile away from the tower and their signal is 30-40 percent worse than AT&T. The tech said something very telling -- wouldn't you rather have lower signal than no coverage at all. That pretty much sums up Verizon - great coverage map with low signal strength. I'd rather be understood on the phone than have a big map.

On average I get 2-3 bars of 3G usually. It does fluctuate quite a bit however, sometimes getting less and other times getting full. Most other places I get full bars.

Verizon has near perfect coverage. It costs more, but if you're a business person who can't be dropping client calls, this is the obvious choice.

Drops calls, does not ring, hard to hear. This also happens when I am in Seattle.

I get FULL signal strength with Verizon in every room of my condo. Too bad it has the "old Style" Motorola charger... that thing SUCKS bad!

Often 0-1 bar with Verizon. Calls regularly go straight to VM without rining. Dropouts are common. I have to go outside to make a call. Cingular was better in the area and given the Cell tower map that's no surprise. Major Cingular exception was there is NO Cingular reception at the Cingular store on 63rd and Andresen.

No Sprint and Verizon dont use the same tower... Most cell companys put there towers near each other like they fallow them around, unless your Verizon phone says extended network then its Sprint if your Sprint phone says Roaming it is Verizon most likely it might be another company but in major metro areas thats how it works

At least 80% of my calls are dropped, the other 20% have consistent break-up. This happens anywhere I attempt to make a call. This is due to the phone and not Verizon's lack of coverage. Throughout this nightmare Verizons CS has been just that a nightmare. They have consistently insisted that it's not their service, or the phone; what else could it be? I switched back to my StarTac for the last three monthe of my contract and I havn't had one problem with dropped calls or break-up, too bad it doesn't have all the features I need. If Verizon would have provided a little better service I would consider staying with them, as it stands it's time for a change.

Living in the neighborhood near Lakeshore Athletic Club, I can count on getting 0-2 bars on a regular basis. Coming westbound from I-5 on NE 78th Street, calls frequently drop out by the time I reach the intersection Fruit Valley Rd.and Lakeshore Avenue. Heading north along NW 21st Ave. from NW 94th St. to NW 99th Street, and traveling eastbound toward I-5, signal strength is unreliable until I pass Columbia River HS at NW 9th Ave. and NW 99th Street. I formerly had an AT&T wireless phone, which wouldn't even ring at this location. My digital and analog Verizon phone rings unreliably, and I often don't receive messages until I drive out for errands. As friends with Sprint phones reliably get 5 bars here, I'll be buying a Sprint phone next.

Just switched from Cingular (virtually NO coverage in this area) to Verizon and I'm pleased to finally have a full strength signal at home - even inside. Verizon really does have "The Network."

My company has used Verizon Wireless for the past two years. When our contract was about to expire we decided to try AT&T / Cingular's GSM service. Luckily we were only on a trial basis with AT&T because their coverage and call quality was horrible. We have since re-signed with Verizon for another two years. It will take a huge amount of improvement for AT&T / Cingular to get our business. Verizon works well in the metro, the mountains and the coast... you can't ask for more.

I have had AT&T TDMA and GSM and NEVER have I been more satisfied with cell phone service (outside of my Moto DPC550 flip in 1992) than I am with my Verizon phone and service. My friend has Sprint and he doesnt have the coverage I do and my sister has T-MO and can't keep up with me... AT&T... Don't even bother, they are aweful... and this area doesnt even get the advantages of Cingular since they are not even in this area. :( Verizon in Vancouver / Portland is the best imho
