Everyone knows the AT&T's cell coverage in Appleton is essentially nonexistent... It's been 1.5 years since I've had my iPhone and nothing has changed. When you speak to customer service the spin a great story and say they are improving but the reality is that nothing is being done. AT&T is unorganized, full of useless excuses, and simply doesn't communicate with its customers.

I work at the Airport in Appleton and recently purchased an iPhone 4 with AT&T. I am finding that I cannot use my cell phone reliably during my work day since signal changes from 1 bar to searching to no service. On occasion I might see 2 bars for a brief period. I would have expected a company that advertises its great coverage and data to at least support decent quality signal reception at a city's main airport. As a side point, my work phone with Verizon seems to never fall below 3 bars.

In this area, AT&T can be hit or miss. Everything from no service to 4 bars. How is that possible in a highly residential neighborhood with high traffic? I cannot count on reception in my own home.

Generally ATT reception in Appleton is good to excellent. The only two areas I've run into problems is at work (Thrivent) and the mall. There are a few locations in the mall where service is poor to non-existant.

I have to go outside and walk around my own house just to talk to people. Employees at the AT&T store were very slow and not helpfull at all when explaining plans. I'm gonna throw a party when my contract is up.

Very disappointed. Just switched to AT&T and I only get one bar in our house and it cuts out frequently.

Absolutely poor coverage, at times no signal at all. Cingular customer service in caught between a rock and a hard place, because all they can tell you is the "company" line - "we have tower issues we hope to resolve. No estimated time of repair can even be approximated. Very Very Frustrating.

Cingular gets a bad rap for whatever reason but they have pretty good reception in appleton, a few places where service is flaky but overall good coverage. a lot better than it was a year or so ago, maybe they bought more towers or something, but it's gotten better.

Outagamie County, Appleton, WI 54911 Sat Jun 03, 2006

Basically, Cingular works in the city of Appleton(most places) and Highways 41 and 441. I have limited coverage in Grand Chute / Greenville and NO coverage anywhere else. I am all over Outagamie County and it get ZERO bars. I have called customer service many times and I keep getting the run-a-round. They are happy to tell me that they are adding a tower in Door County (which does nothing for me). I plan on switching to Alltel or US Cellular.

Some places its 5 bars but the call drops after a few seconds, when I haven't even moved. In my house on briarcliff I get one bar inside and out. Often times the phone displays "call failed" when it has 4 bars. Very poor service to the best of my testing but it could be the phone

By far the best signal of any carrier I have used. The GSM does NOT work everywhere but I was told where I would get reception when I purchased. Very Clear reception and 25%+ greater battery life than CDMA (us cellular, Verizon, Sprint, )
