Outside, I usually get 3-5 bars practically everywhere. In Walmarts or other buildings with steel frames, then have to use antennae to get 2 bars and reception. (1bar = no reception). Pretty good coverage, good service, local stores. Just wish they had a Palm phone.

Reception for our US Cell service (2 different Motorola's) in this area is slim to none. Switched 3 different types on their recommendation; still dropped calls and none in the "pocket" east of HWY 12 N of UW Baraboo. Despite repeated complaints, we are locked into a lousy contract. 10 yr loyal customer. Unhappy. Won't renew; those that call my cell at home get my message. Altel has towers nearby; maybe have to get a "trial" service if possible to see if they are better.

Had Alltel for several months and coverage is very good. No dead spots in areas I travel around the area. Much better than friends with Cingular that have many dead zones. No problems downtown, just outside of town, Hwy. 12 or 33, or anywhere between here and Madison.

Changed from AT&T to Cingular after the merger. Lived in Waunakee and worked in Lodi. Service was 3-4 bars most every where I went in Wanaukee and Lodi. Then I moved to Baraboo. Nothing. From the time I hit the Merrimac crossing all the way home... . Nothing. The only place I've had any reception at all is in the center of the Menards parkinglot on Hwy. 12 or on the street above the Baraboo Jr. High School during 4th of July. Each time I only barely got one bar, and that was standing on one leg while singing yankee doodle-dandy. Every attempt to get out of the contract has failed so far.

Had Sprint while I was living in the Dells; perfect recption up there but once I moved to Baraboo I switched to Alltel get a perfect signal 98% of the time, when I don't it's no less four bars. Plus, operates just as well if not better than in the Dells than Sprint did.

All the maps I checked for our area said that you covered us... but now that I have my new cell I find that I can't use it at the one place that I really need it, at school! It seems to only work on the edges of the city. Yeah that's great... but it doesn't work for us. I think that if you say you cover our area you should at least COVER our area. Just put in a tower on top of our water tower... there are already a few there. I'm sure a big company could strike up a deal with our city.
