Finally got a phone to work at cabin outside Markville - cheap Tracfone that I believe works thru ATT tower. My primary cellphone is a Sprint CDMA that works fine in Danbury and about 5 miles north but then drops out - maybe get a call in / out doing the Green Acres thing up on the roof of my cabin but even that's iffy. The cheap Tracfone works great at the cabin and out in the woods and is a cheap alternative to spending $$ on a landline for a place that is only seasonal. From what I can tell, CDMA tower is in Danbury (strong sig) and GSM tower may be north on 35 and a little east on 77 - very strong at the Fishbowl.

The coverage map from AT&T says there is supposed to be a signal from partner, but there is none on my GSM phone. An old Nokia TDMA (AT&T)phone gets two to three bars. AT&T will discontinue TDMA in Feb 08. They say they will investigate, let's hope they fix the GSM situation.
