Summary: ATT&T is the worst service in this particular area, Verizon and T-Mobile are better. Prepaid or post paid service may be a good alternative. There seems to be a few cellphone towers in the area, U.S. Cellular being the closet according to the coverage map on THIS site. Do not believe the bars on your cell phone. They are not a good measure of how good the connectivity or reception is actually. When using ATT&T, I can hardly make any calls even near window on the top floor inside the building but not anywhere near. Calls do get through (inbound or outbound) when not near window on top floor, but it is just by mere luck or any other factors. Even if the calls are received or connect, I have hardly had any call without person at the other end asking if I am on a cell phone (polite way of saying 'the call quality is worse'), or being disconnected. I also used Verizon Wireless earlier to switching to AT&T. Verizon wireless service reception in this area was definitely better than AT&T and probably same or better than T-Mobile (as far as I can tell by using a NET 10 phone). Switching to AT&T was a blunder by any criteria -- at least for this location. After an year or more with AT&T, I bought a Trafcone / NET10 phone and tested for reception. Tracfone (and their various brand children networks) uses T-Mobile and ATT&T for GSM phones and Verizon (may be US Cellular) for CDMA phones. I have only tested Tracfone / NET10 phone with a GSM phone and the call quality and cellphone reception are definitely not as bad as AT&T. Why the difference even if using another (GSM) phone? Because, Tracfone / NET10 phone is using T-Mobile for this particular area and the phone I bought. Please note that Tracphone / NET10 can use either ATT&T, T-Mobile for GSM and Verizon (or any regional CDMA carrier) for CDMA phone. If I you are still not convinced that AT&T is worse in this particular region, you can try borrowing a T-Mobile phone from someone who has other carrier service. Another way is by using inexpensive prepaid phone like Tracfone, NET 10, Page Plus (CDMA). You can get the Tracfone or NET 10 phone at various retail outlets like Wal-Mart, Target, RadioShack, or even some gas stations. Other prepaid services like Page Plus (owned by same parent company as that of Tracfone / NET 10) are not available at these outlets mentioned previously. However, you can order from their websites. Note that you can't use your (existing) GSM phone with Tracfone / NET 10 but you can use a Verizon Wireless or other CDMA phone with Page Plus wireless. You would have to fill up minutes within a specific time though. If you do not want to fill up minutes, you can also signup for a plan without a contract. I will probably port my number from AT&T wireless after giving this prepaid service some more testing time. I have not tested how good the reception and call connectivity are outside this area (like say another part of city or near work).

Rarely can I get reception in my home. On rare occasions I will get 4 bars but as soon as I try to connect, the 4 bars go to zero bars. We were convinced to try a "better" phone and sign another two year contract - big mistake! There is no improvement even with the "newest" phones. My spouse works in Oconomowoc and his cell will drop the call three times when calling our home phone on his way home. We will be trying another carrier when our contract is up.

Reception very poor inside, several no connects and dropped calls. People getting mad at me not answering a phone that doesn't ring. ~ Reception otherwise good around Milwaukee area.

T-Mobile seems to be good to average reception at this location. I tried AT&T and T-Mobile and the later was better than AT&T, though not perfect. See the other review for the same location where I have provided extensive detail about the reception and coverage.

this is probally the worst cell phone service I have ever had in my life I am lucky if I can get more than 10seconds talk time no reception whatsoever in my home, driveway, or public buildings other than the airport when I am in a public building or my home an icon pops up that states emergency calls only! in an effort to make me happy with my service T-Mobile offered me free minutes! Now isn't that almost somewhat of an oxymoron of sorts??? I can't get talk time so free minutes??come on people I have had their service since 2-06 and just to give you an idea I have used approx 21hours... however, my bills are larger than when I was with US Cellular which in closing will be the company I return to when my contract is up never a bad call situation with US Cellular
