No reception in house, poor reception outside of house. Better reception with T-Mobile and Verizon phones. Tested with multiple Sprint phones.

Signal for voice and data is bad, a lot of times it is non existent. Can roam with good signal. Verified on two other Sprint smartphones. This is the second time this drop in signal has occurred. Signal was great for a couple weeks, and now it is back to garbage.

I don't understand all these negative Sprint coverage comments. I have great reception in Madison. It's when I get out of Madison that I have to use someone else's phone. I don't have internet access though.

Can not talk on my phone in my house at all. Friend lives on 700 block Johnson St.and get 1 bar or less outside. Dead spots all along lake Monona from Olbrich to Law parks. Roaming rarely activates and when it does, only for half minute. No way to force roaming anymore. Travel on interstate 39 to Wausau and lose signal frequently. I must be an idiot.

I often cannot text or call from my house, let alone get data. Sprint is sending me the Airave that I am supposed to try using through my internet; we will see how that goes. I really do not recommend Sprint in this area.

I've had Sprint for several years and always had good luck at home and around Madison. Just switched to "4G" network and I am not impressed. The data service does not work at all. Phone is going back and I'm going to make a scene until I'm let out of this latest 2year contract.

Ive been with Sprint for 3 months now and I want to put a gun in my mouth most days. VERY poor reception, dropped calls etc... If you live on the West Side or anywhere near University Ave West Side you are, in a word, SCREWED! I am a Health Care Worker, and need my phone and my plan for the hospital I work at which is right in Doctors Park (do the math). I get very crappy service in the building, and most calls are dropped. 3G service is horendous and all I do is battle for wifi service as I move around the hosptial. I enjoy having breakfast at OPH and reading the New York Times on the Palm Pre, the only problem is I cant because I get no 3G or Wifi in the little restaurant, and only 1 bar. Of course if I walk across the street, 50 ft, I get 2 bars and Im back in the network... SOoooo frustrating! So buyer beware, if you work on the West side, drive along University or are in Health Care and plan on using Sprint, you are WRONG! Come on Sprint! Step it up!

I get zero or one bars on the street. In the apartment, 3rd floor, the only place I get decent reception is in the loft bed room, but calls are still occasionally dropped. Sprints service seems to be very spotty through out the city. I never know if I'll have service when I go to use the phone.

Sprint works very well here. I even get 2 bars in the basement, under a reinforced concrete 1st floor. Wife has Verizon and often borrows my phone because Vz is dropping calls. I have had Sprint for over 3 years and have been very satisfied. I only use the phone for voice and occasional text messages, so I don't know about data service.

I have had Sprint for 4 years now, and the service could not be better. what Sprint does not tell you, they have a free roaming anywhere in america. combind the sprint, Verizon and us cellular coverage, and you will have service any where you go with no extra charges! I found a really good deal on my phone at the cell phone kiosk sams club. not only did they give me a $40 credit to my bill, but they dont deal with rebates when buying a phone there!

I don't seem to have many reception problems when I drive home but I keep my phone in good condition and don't put it in my pocket, etc. My husband keeps his in his pocket and has all sorts of problems (and we have the same phone). I've had good experiences with Sprint's customer service the entire 7 years I've been with them but it seems when traveling to more remote areas and into some buildings there are reception issues. After looking at lots of reviews from all the different major companies it seems that no one company is really a good one as far as good reception and it seems to matter more about the phone you buy. Good customer service matters more than an extra bar in my opinion. At&t is awful on their internet / landline customer service and outages so there's no way I would ever want to sign up for anything else with them. They are evil since SBC bought them out.

Anywhere near the hospitals in downtown Madison, and some spots on the south side of the campus will result in a weak signal at best. Not only is it a weak signal, but sound quality resembles analog! Most other places the sound is clear as a bell, but downtown sound like talking into a tin can.

Excellent coverage on the east side of madison so far, I have full bars in my house and most places i've gone. I even have 2 bars in my basement. So far i've been very impresed with the coverage and the sound quality. Haven't had any drops in the two weeks i've had the phone, and i've never been to an area with no Sprint signal (as far as in madison area, or where their should be a Sprint signal) GO SPRINT!

I get no reception at all where I live (even on Roaming). I need to go about 8 blocks away to get reception and Sprint Customer Service claims that there should be no problems because their are 5 towers with the 2 mile radius of my house... but there is a HUGE dead spot and Sprint consistently drops calls all over the place.

Sprint has neat features that frequently don't work. The internet browsing is a joke. Dropped calls. Major problem. Frequently around the Hwy. 30 / Thompson Drive area. Sometimes in my house I get 1 bar, and my phone will not ring. Other times in the same exact spots I have all of my bars and it works great. Sprint customer service is poor at best. I advise to avoid Sprint in the Madison area. They agreed their coverage is below par and gave me an hour of free roaming a month, because in many places you can not get a Sprint signal. I was spoiled with Cingular (TDMA, not GSM haven't used that yet). I am switching back at the end of my 2 year Sprint contract (13 more days, yay).

My phone worked great in San Francisco, but it's almost worthless along the lake on Waunona way and occasionally will get reception at our home between Monroe and Regent street. I'm not impressed, I'm switching to US Cellular since others with that service do get service in these same areas.

Onsgard Rd. (Right by MATC) / Stoughton and Lien, Madison, WI 53704 Fri Jul 23, 2004

Both of my roommates use Sprint. I live about 4 minutes from MATC in Madison. Both of them only get 1 bar, and have to by RIGHT by an open door or window to get any reception at all. If you go into our apartment with it, it will say no signal. It's bad. So many times I have seen him get cut off and have to call the person back. Don't get Sprint if your in Madison! That's for sure.
