Actually 3-5 bars depending on how you point the phone. But still does not seem to drop calls anywhere in Madison or anywhere else so far. I have good reception at my work which is in the basement of a large building. I had no reception there with Nextel.

Reception around Hilldale Mall (University Ave and Midvale) is generally good. Sometimes when calling from within the apartment I've had people complain they hear themselves echo'ing, and I've heard echos on occassion as well (this is when I've called a land line, so its almost certainly either my phone or Verizon).

Excellent coverage in and around Fitchburg and through all of Southern WI. I routinely take this phone and drive to Norther WI with it. Only a few holes around the WI Dells area. Way better than Verizon or other networks for me.

Had very few problems at this location, and I attribute all of the problems I did have to moving around inside.

Virtually no signal in my apartment, the entire area south of Camp Randall seams to be a bad spot. Oddly enough, signal is 100% at Randall & Regent but drops off quicky as you move into Vilas neghborhood. I often force my phone into using Einstien (100% signal).

Basically I commute back and forth between school (U of Wisconsin, Madison) and my home. No droped calls, completely clear voice. I am certainly surprised that US Cellular is doing good job in this area. Actually I just moved in Madison from Phildadelphia 1 month ago, and I've never heared anything about US Cellular. But now, I am very satisfied with this phone. The only thing I don't like about them is they don't offer unlimited weekends & weekday nights calls below $50 monthly plan.
