Everyone who has old AT&T GSM phones should check if the phone supports 850MHz band. If not - you will not have a good reception here, in the USA.

I was a cable technician and therefore had to travel all over Madison, and my cell reception was always great(except for basements an underground parking garages). Once you leave Middleton / West Madison and head west I lost all reception.

Excellent coverage on the east side of madison so far, I have full bars in my house and most places i've gone. I even have 2 bars in my basement. So far i've been very impresed with the coverage and the sound quality. Haven't had any drops in the two weeks i've had the phone, and i've never been to an area with no Sprint signal (as far as in madison area, or where their should be a Sprint signal) GO SPRINT!

I get no reception at all where I live (even on Roaming). I need to go about 8 blocks away to get reception and Sprint Customer Service claims that there should be no problems because their are 5 towers with the 2 mile radius of my house... but there is a HUGE dead spot and Sprint consistently drops calls all over the place.

0 bars in buildings. One bar outside in the street. I tried the Nokia basic blue (tried it as a loaner from US Cellular) phone and 2 bars inside--incoming calls don't work AT ALL. Forget US Cellular..Cingular and Sprint phones work great out here which is why I'm canceling my contract with US Cellular. They say there's 2 towers from this location (2000ft away and 3000ft away)--go figure. If the US Cellular has you try *228 or *18, it's a joke. It didn't do a thing for me. Oh..your motorolas with Verizon don't work here either.

TMobile has no reception here, rather they have a shared network with Einstein and Einstein has seen fit not to improve their network in hopes that TMobile would or buy them out. If you like to be cheap and sacrifice quality go with TMobile otherwise get Cingular / Att or Verizon.
