I've tried major carriers in WI. Verizon is the most consistent and fastest carrier I've experienced in the past 8 years. Menomonie is covered will. Hit miss reception below the city in the hills and valleys. Heading north, reception almost never drop under 1 bar in very remote areas.

I never have any problem getting signal. Even if my friends have nothing I've got at least 2 bars

Reception is very poor - very "in and out" while on a call whether in the house or in the front yard. Was told that the tower faces I94 and so does not give good reception north of the tower. Whay can't they put receptors on a tower 360 degrees, as long as the tower is already there?

T-mobile has excellent reception in menomonie and in / around eau claire. If you continue travelling east past Eau Claire, reception drops off. If you go west toward the twin cities, reception is great. As is it in all of eastern MN. Coverage is spotty in the country surrounding menomonie, with none or 1 bars most places 5 miles out of Menomonie.

Cingular digital does not work at all in Menomonie. I had to purchase an old Nokia analog phone to get reception after the brand new LG digital phone that came with my plan got no reception when I moved here. The analog phone is on and off and I am told that the nearest Cingular analog tower is over 100 miles away. Avoid cingular.

New GSM with great reception... BUT, lots of dropped calls. I mean, I have to worry about it everytime I call. Lots of 'Network Busy' situations.
