Verizon's coverage on this side of town is somewhat schizo -- occasionally calls get dropped. Sometimes I end up on an Extended Network and have to use the area code to dial a local call. Overall, however, I've been pleased with the service and this phone.
I always get at least 4 bars, never a dropped call in my neighborhood area and most of the Milwaukee area. There is a section of highway when heading south on 45 right around Goodhope Rd. where I will have dropped calls about 50% of the time. Over all I have been pleased with T-Mobile service. I will say that there is zero reception in the most Northern parts of Wisconsin. I travel alot to Mellen, Cable, and other far Northern cities and have never had reception. I have been told by people at T-Mobile that there should be service in those areas, but there isn't. Maybe this will change in the future. As I said, T-Mobile has been a good service provider and I would recommend it.
i love this phone. I recently had cingular, and they had ok reception but it cost to darn much. I switched to Sprint and with the fair and flexible plan they work with my budget abd if I use 200 of my 1,000, I only pay 29.99 for the mins I used not the full price! the reception for my Sprint is awesome!
rumor has it that former AT&T customers are getting poor reception because Cingular is shutting down the old towers to try to force the old AT&T customers to switch to Cingular (a.k.a more expensive) plans
I have great service everywhere except in this area. It is close to an airport, so Cingular uses that excuse on me. My roommate is on Sprint, and his works fine. I also have a Nextel phone for work, and it works fine at home.
Just switched from old AT&T to new Cingular. If at all possible, reception is WORSE! Think I will switch us to Verizon, as they have 12 towers in 5 mi. radius -- while Cingular has two (2) in 10 mi. radius.
My phone from Cingular sucks. Almost every call I have to redial, get a dropped signal or can barely hear. I am going to switch to US Cellular or Verizon.
