US Cellular
Excellent service everywhere. Buy a phone(UPrepaid), take it home, CHECK SIGNAL STRENGTH and then pay for the service. I had Virgin (1-2 out of 5 bars)Uses Sprint towers Boost(1-2 out of 5 bars)uses Sprint Towers I had Verizon from 1998-2007 has 3-4 out of 5 bars but clarity was not good. I still have the phones and checked signal strength today. I had a USCell contract from 2007-2009.The overage charges were the final straw. Then switched to prepaid. I now have UPrepaid (4of 5 bars everywhere!)from Walmart is a reseller of USCellular The flip phone is crystal clear. $30 for 1,000 min. $40 unlimited talk text and too much internet for a flip phone. $50 android unlimited But, limited phone options so far.The service started this summer.

Verizon
Verizon coverage is excellent in this area. I get 5 / 5 bars in my house, and even 4 bars in the basement. Data is strong and consistent. I have not had a dropped call or quality issues in the area.

T-Mobile
I am very happy with T Mobile and I have been with most major carriers... ... Dont get me wrong US Cellular is solid in area... .And of course Verizon Has towers that hung every corner of map, which gives great service most of time. But that being said your paying twice as much then T Mobile which in my opinion is great, no problems no dropped calls, super fast data. The fastest I ever had. So, in conclusion I would recommend TMobile to people living in SE WI.

Verizon
I've had Verizon for over 4 years. I can't recall one incident, where I had any issues making or receiving phone calls in the West Allis area. Data speeds aren't the greatest around here. I just got the Droid 4 with 4g, and if I put the phone in the window upstairs, I average 500-700k / s. Sitting in Whitnall Park, I got the best speed at over 3 mb / s, averaging consistantly over 1.5mb / s.

Verizon
I've got no love for Verizon, and actually I'm shopping other carriers because of price. However, in the six years I've lived here in SE Wisconsin I don't remember ever experiencing bad reception. Dropped call, what's that? My phone get used everywhere and even when I'm driving and NO dropped calls. How can one person have perfect reception in West Allis and another is crying their eyes out? Strange.

Nextel
Works awesome! Full coverage at my house, even in my basement. Stable calls and great sound quality. Overall, the best for the Metro area.

US Cellular
I've never once dropped a call, in my own home, in basements, in bars, or anywhere else my friends phones / providers have dropped calls. Even when I take camping trips in the middle of nowhere I get calls (good thing for US Cellular, bad thing for my peaceful camping trip!). The only drawback to the service is the fact that its a little more pricey than most plans. Emphasis on the word little, however.

Verizon
Been with Verizon forever, only carrier I've ever been with. Customer service is outstanding if I ever need it. I drive all over, never a dropped call or signal issue. Had 3 different phones and same results. Verizon ROCKS! My daughter had Sprint, waited on the line until she got one of the VP's offices to tell them what she thought, they were't very happy. Now she's a Verizon convert

Nextel
Living in an area where Nextel was the worst, I was suprised when I moved to Milwaukee that wherever I went in town, I had perfect recption and not a dropped call. I still keep my Verizon line for when I go up north... but not bad at all.

US Cellular
US CEllular is the best, especially in the Milwaukee area. I have no problems with calls ever dropping and I have been a customer since 1996. I also took a trip to NC and my phone was not roaming and the signal was still perfect.

Sprint
My only complaint, is if you drive any where North of Sheboygan, you can't even roam. No coverage off the freeway in the Chenequa / Waukesha County Area, no Coverage in Door County... Sprint, dont' be silly, give the customers with $$ coverage where they need it when they go on vacation

Sprint
Everyone complains about sprint, but I travel the state and don't have a problem. Even up toward green bay, and adams county, I may go into roaming but it's like 5 bars. I have to say of all the carriers I've had Sprint is by far the best reception!

US Cellular
Can't complain about reception here. Haven't had any problems with reception around Milwaukee area in general. I wish they would roll their minutes, then they'd be ideal.

AT&T
Near I-94, so the must be a tower right near. 3G service flawless. Generally Cingular has been horrible for me, but at home it seems as if the tower is right down the block. It probably is. At work in Waukesha 3 bars max

US Cellular
I've used US Cellular for 5 years now and have had very few issues come up. Any problems I did have were quickly resolved by their great customer service. Reception has been perfect since I bought the Razr in March '06. Have traveled to different parts of the country and still had very good reception. My only complaint is that the phone selection is slightly lagging behind other providers and the cost is sometimes a little higher. But if you want great overall service and a satisfying experience, US Cellular is the way to go!

T-Mobile
I just switched carriers and for once I see all 4 bars up. I can email, instant message, text, call and browse the net.

T-Mobile
I always get at least 4 bars, never a dropped call in my neighborhood area and most of the Milwaukee area. There is a section of highway when heading south on 45 right around Goodhope Rd. where I will have dropped calls about 50% of the time. Over all I have been pleased with T-Mobile service. I will say that there is zero reception in the most Northern parts of Wisconsin. I travel alot to Mellen, Cable, and other far Northern cities and have never had reception. I have been told by people at T-Mobile that there should be service in those areas, but there isn't. Maybe this will change in the future. As I said, T-Mobile has been a good service provider and I would recommend it.

Sprint
i love this phone. I recently had cingular, and they had ok reception but it cost to darn much. I switched to Sprint and with the fair and flexible plan they work with my budget abd if I use 200 of my 1,000, I only pay 29.99 for the mins I used not the full price! the reception for my Sprint is awesome!

T-Mobile
Where I live is right next to the tower but I get great reception anyplace. I love this phone - it's very old - and TMobile. By any place I mean Western Europe, the Mediterranean and Central America. And I pay a modest amount per minute when I'm in those places. No charge for the basic GSM service except the usual monthly charge for however many minutes. (I subscriber for 500 but never use them because of the free weekends) There are parts of the US - and even Wisconsin, just west of Madison, where I have momentary blank spots. But, never in Europe. I think this is still DeutscheTelecom.

AT&T
I just purchased a Motorola V3. Recently I was on a conference call that lasted 1.5 hours. I was in my car and had to go west to Waukesha / Pewaukee area. Then traveled through downtown Milwaukee and then north on I43 to Mequon. For the entire conference call I did not drop once. Since I have always had Cingular some areas passed would have dropped me with my old phone. I thank the Pat at Advanced Electronix / D and B Auto Radio in West Allis for the advice to purchase the V3 it's worth the investment.

US Cellular
US Cellular in Milwaukee has always giving me great reception. Even in our basement garage where others have asked what carrier I had because they can't get any service while I get at least 3 bars. Sprint was terrible in Milwaukee. Verizon was ok.

US Cellular
Everywhere I go US Cellular has 4 to 5 bars. Indoors the lowest its been is 3. Though sometimes I get a noisy line. More often in certian areas. Roaming up north is a different story though. In three lakes, WI I had one bar. Phone didn't ring most of the time, straight to VM, and I had trouble making calls. Not us cellulars fault. Overall they got southeast WI well covered.

Excellent reception all around the area. In the basement of my 75 year old home I am 5 bars.

AT&T
I always have five bars everywhere in the city (except for my apartment). Also, I get at least three bars when I'm visiting my family out in rural areas.

Verizon
Even though my phone is a pretty simple model, it works great. I always get 5 bars in the milwaukee and surrounding areas. What I really like is that my phone is both analog and digital. So when I am hunting up north my phone will automatically switch to analog and I can still make and recieve calls, even when my friends with their all digital models cannot. The analog mode drains the battery quicker, but I usually leave the phone off. At least I know that my phone will work if there is ever an emergency. All in all, I am very happy with both the phone and the service. P.S. My girlfriend had T-Mobile and it was the WORST! I can't tell you how much she hated it. They offered her a huge discount just to stay a customer, and she still dropped them.

AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
How do I know that these reports are not made up by the companies themselves? I could just type in that Verizon is the worst and that AT&T is the best. Or is it the other way around?
