Verizon (was Alltel until recently) is now getting stronger signals, even in this hilly area. Improvement over Alltel and service is no longer extended area. Broadband connection is available, too. No dropped calls. Happy with quality. Also, there continues to be a dead spot on highway 151 between north of Dodgeville and Barneveld.

Reception is ok - the hilly area can cause low signals, but still works. For Verizon, this is in extended area, but not roaming. Text messages work; other non-phone call features do not. (Verizon switches to extended area near Ridgeway.) Travel between Mineral Point and Madison (highway 151) is certainly no problem.
