Except for a dead spot between Spooner and Rice Lake, the coverage all around here is very good. I got this phone, with my daughter, from the Twin Cities. As far as I know, you cannot get Sprint around here. The ironic thing is, is that I get better reception than my friends with local cell phone coverage. It's difficult to get a local prefix and I have had some trouble with their customer service... but the reception is GREAT!

have been a cellularone customer for almost ten years now, switched to gsm when it first came out. I understood that there would be some bugs in the system initially. And yes my service got better; I was able to talk on one bar of signal where digitals were dropping off. But in the last month I've have not been at all able to maintain a constant signal at all. Going north out of Spooner I basically lose all chances of maintaining a single bar of signal when get into Trego and further north. When I used to maintain one signal bar till I reached the next tower near minong. Likewise downtown spooner I constantly lose signal and the tower is right on the edge of town.

Cellular one is FAR from perfect. I have, however, been a Cellone Customer for about 6 years. I too fell for the "GSM is the answer" trick that they are promoting. I, while on a month to month contract, was basically FORCED to sign a new 2 year contract with the "new" GSM phone. I found out that GSM just plain stinks in WI. I had NO SERVICE from about Wausau down to Madison. The exact area where I use my phone the most. The sales rep told me that towers would be up and running in 30 days. That was 6 months ago. I called the area rep and he informed me that those towers will not be up for 5-10 years. He also informed me that plain old DIGITAL service will not be cut for another 10-15 years. Cellone will ALSO do a "reverse migration" to ANYONE who signed the new GSM contract. You must request it. They will return you to your old contract, and activate your old phone again, should you have one. You may also request to have the GSM plan / pricing with the old Digital service. I have the unlimited GSM plan, with a digital phone. It can be done. Rumor is that Verizon is going to be setting up in Northern Wisconsin. I will switch to them as soon as I can.
