Using Sprint A640 cellular phone. Reception fluctuates between 0 and 2 bars at best. Phone will drop calls inside house (ground floor). Phone consistently drops calls near Goodwill store on east main and 164. On I-94, phone hits a dead zone between mile markers 333 and 344. I travel all over the Milwaukee suburbs as well as Chicago area. Sprint coverage is fine in Chicagoland buts hits a speed bump in Wisconsin.

I can not get reception in my home unless I am hanging out the bedroom window. I have checked with T-Mobile and they pulled my address up on the screen and told me I am in the dead center of a dead zone. What a disappointment. If I wasn't in a plan with family in MN, I would be searching desperately for a new carrier.

Use to have great service a couple years ago, USCC has had tower problems on the west side of Waukesha since October 2006. New found features are dropped calls left and right and being unable to place calls for hours on end. When you leave this area everything is fine but 4mi radius of 53188 and your S.O.L.

Dead zone area, signal within 4 block radius is scratchy at best. Next to no signal indoors. Have tested with two Motorola phones, one sony, one samsung, and two Nokia phones. The cheap nokia's have the best antennas for Cingular FYI... ..minus they rest of the phone is crap.

T-Mobile had the worst reception I had ever experienced. Fortunately, I returned their phone and cancelled the service one week after I signed up; they were nice enough to only charge me for the minutes I used. I have had both Cingular and Verizon in this area and although not perfect these were acceptable.

US Cellular blows every other carrier out of the water in the Milwaukee market in terms of reception. My friends with GSM carriers such Cingular end up using my cell phone to make calls when I'm hanging around them. Just look at a tower map of the Waukesha area. My parents, on USCC as well, are ditching their landline phone. US Cellular is bad if you travel to northern Wisconsin or into states outside of the northern Illinois, Wisconsin, or Iowa areas. That's the reason they have great coverage locally; they focus on tower density in a regional area and depend on other carriers nationwide- I'm an amateur radio operator, but you don't need to be one to understand that concept. CDMA phones are usually way behind the times, however, and honestly I believe it's a near certainty that GSM will far outlive if not replace CDMA. CDMA uses BREW, not JAVA, so you can't use all the cool applets for games and such available to GSM users.

Granted, we have moved to the boonies, but I had hoped to be able to check my voicemail while inside my house.

I was the finance manager for T-Mobile (Voicestream at the time)... basically, I paid for the ENTIRE 156 cell tower sites in SE WI - therefore, I know intimately where T-Mobile does and does not have coverage (I have data as of 2002). Since then, I am not 1000% certain if TM has spent money on additional cell towers, etc. I can tell you that since I moved from south side of Milwaukee to Waukesha - I found a home in the absolute WORST subdivision for T-MObile coverage. I know a tower is built at WCTC, there are a few others within 3 to 5 miles of my subdivision, however, my particular block is low lying and ZERO coverage in my home! August 30th is my 1yr contract expiration date... .believe me, after being a Voicestream / T-mobile employee since 1999... I am now going to leave them to find a competitor who does cover my subdivision (Cingular and Verizon both do).

I laugh every time I see the commercial that says fewest dropped calls... can't say if it is the phone or the provider or the area, but thoroughly disappointed...
