Dead zone area, signal within 4 block radius is scratchy at best. Next to no signal indoors. Have tested with two Motorola phones, one sony, one samsung, and two Nokia phones. The cheap nokia's have the best antennas for Cingular FYI... ..minus they rest of the phone is crap.

I have had Cingular service since it took over from Ameritech, several years ago. Cingular has been very accomodating to me in upgrading my phone 3 times on my current contract, which ends October 2006. The contract started out with a Samsung, which was worse than useless. So Cingular started giving me Motorola replacements. I've had the Motorola V551 close to a year. Cingular tells me they will give me no more replacements until I upgrade to a more expensive plan. However, I use the cell phone almost entirely to receive business calls. I can't tell you how many times the calls drop. It happens often. The worst reception is in my immediate area, Especially poor in my home. I am debating changing to a defferent service at the end of my contract, but after reading the comments here, I wonder if any of them are completely reliable. And I really doubt if upgrading to a more expensive plan would change anything.

Cingular has great coverage in my home neighborhood and, in my experience, everywhere else I go in Waukesha.

The reception in this area has just recently improved! For the first six months of my T-Mobile contract I'd drop calls all the time, given I was able to make them in the first place. I'd call all the time, sent emails, and spoke to local reps and got what I thought was the run around, "we are constantly upgrading our network and are aware of problems in your area." I'm sure I wasn't the only person contacting customer care. Around June sometime, I was attempting to carry a conversation when it dropped. I'd been used to this and took it as same ol, same ol. Until I looked at my phone and to my joy, showed up: BAR 1, BAR 2, BAR 3, :), BAR 4, and finally BAR 5! Yippie T-Mobile wasn't (and isn't) like the rest of them, they listen, they resolve! I was so happy to finally be able to use my service. Since then I've had nothing but good service. Even got my parents to come to T-Mobile and (they) love it! I'm going to be getting the NOKIA 6101 because they pull in the best signal from the towers! GO T-Mobile!

Great signal outside anywhere around here, in buildings though signal could be better. Overall a good service for the area.

Service on campus is horrible. Will show 2-3 bars and drop calls, even was signal is showing to be good can't hear what is going on in the conversation. Tried a Nokia 6010 and signal wasn't much better. If your gonna be at Carroll I'd look for another provider if you can.

Absolutely no clarity. Funny thing was I spoke to the Customer Service and he said "Sir, you are breaking up" when I was right in the heart of the city. I hadn't disconnected my US Cellular phone... which had 5 bars. I am moving to Madison soon, hence switching to Cingular.
