In the past few months the service for US Cellular has gone way down hill in this area. It probably has something to do with the fact that they have so few towers in this area and that they have gotten so many new customers due to the problems with Element mobile who used to be Alltel in this area. My old phone a Motorola RZR got decent reception but being over 4 years old was dying so I got the LG Banter touch. It is very slow to send messages and I get error messages saying I am not in the service area. (I am on a nationwide plan) Reception on this phone is lousey and I will add that I do have a cell phone booster in the house and even that doesn't help. I will also say I tried a Samsung Messager touch and that was WORSE. Many more dropped calls, static, little to no reception and if I got all bars it dropped the calls too. Never had any problems with the RZR with or without the cell phone booster. This all started in the last 45 days. They seriously need to add towers and get better phone for those customers in the country that are in need of better reception. I have had US Cellular for over 8 years and this is the first time I am extremly unhappy with it. They Need to add more towers I this area.

U. S. Cellular is the company I would go with if you live in the coverage area. I travel and the only places I have dropped calls for some reason is at the state line on I94 south of Milwaukee. I have the nationwide plan and like it until I get into some roaming areas were they have other towers they use. I had Sprint before this and I never dropped so many calls in my life. I think U. S. Cellular has the best customer service in the industry. The type of phone makes a difference also. They give you two weeks to try their service and if you don't like it, take the phone back and cancel out the contract. There isn't any phone service that is perfect so compare when you shop for service and a phone. These guys are my favorite.

It works ok if you want to send text or Picture messages, thought if I want service I have to walk to the top of our driveway. The voice quality is so so. Plus I was on a roaming band called " I Wirless". All in all I think it works good enought for me as our service will probabley expand later on.
