Reception varies from 0 - 5 depending on line-of-sight to tower and vegitation. We are on top of Pointy Knob about 2 miles south of Canaan Valley State Park lodge. I guess we are getting reception from the tower in Harman and the one on Canaan Heights. I am satisfied with performance.

I get pretty solid Verizon coverage in Davis, and around the Valley. With my pos LG phone. That said, folks really do need to understand this this region is within the "Radio Quiet Zone" respecting the needs of the folks down at the Green Bank National Radio Astronomy Observatory. Complaining to the cell providers about poor coverage in this region will probably only result in yet still more pressure to infringe on the radio quiet zone. Folks at our NRAO are already under the gun big time with budget cuts, lack of cluelessness on behalf of our science-illiterate government and such as it is. Do yourself a big favor, turn the danged thing off and enjoy being here. It's a fine place to be.

Canaan Valley / Davis, WV / US33, SR32 / US219, Davis, WV 26260 Sat Nov 18, 2006

Reception is poor at best anywhere in the mountains unless one is on the mountain top with nothing to block the signal. It is not going to happen in this type of terrain. The number and location of towers is not the problem. Coverage is poor with all carriers. Amateur radio coverage on 2m, on the other hand, is very good. Carriers should take lessons from the hams' repeater systems.

I frequently get better reception out here in the wooded valley of WV than I do in the suburbs of Baltimore. As you travel throughout the valley coverage will vary but reception is relatively good considering the secluded nature of the area.

Variable reception. The signals varies between 5 bars and 'no network coverage' in any spot on this tower coverage. Literally every call dropped. Very disappointing.
