Got a BlackBerry Curve at NTELOS across the downtown bridge. Great coverage, service, and price. Definitely the best in the area. Only company with 3G internet as well.

No call reception on campus. Can send and receive text messages but sporadic pix messages. Calls go right to voicemail or are dropped upon connection. For an out of stater attending FSU for 4 years, Verizon needs to get service in this area since most out of state students come with Verizon service. If service isn't made available, not only will students change service providers but families back home will too so they can get family share plans. Verizon should definately provide service near universities to accommodate out of state students who come with Verizon.

Very disheartening to have such poor reception after the excitement of purchasing the original iPhone. Their service reception maps said I would do just fine.

We've had US cellular for about 2 years now and the reception continues to improve. It is the best plan I have had among carriers. I highly recommend it in the area

I recently up-graded from a Samsung phone to a Kyocera because my Samsung got damaged. I always had 2 bars with good reception on the Samsung. I have no service with the Kyocera.

Most urban areas are well covered in WV, either natively or by roaming agreements. A very few locations have power vision, EVDO service (mostly limited to the Wheeling area), though roaming EVDO is available in Parkersburg and Charleston Metro areas (perhaps Huntington as well?)via Alltel; if your phone is capable. While most urban areas are well covered, the hilly terrain inevitably results in coverage holes, particularly in rural areas. Including my house, located near the colfax area. In this area, in particular, GSM coverage seems to be the best; with Sprint typically only getting 1-2 bars outside on a good day.

I've had cellular one previously because both my daughters attend WVU and we had alot of trouble with reception. I didn't buy the insurance and my daughter had one phone that never worked right and they said it was "liquid damage" so I ended up paying almost $200.00 for a new phone; moral of story, buy insurance! U.S. Cellular is a much better service. It is actually rated top in consumer reports for customer satisfaction. I got slapped with overages on our last bill and changed the minutes from 1000 to 1400 sharetalk on 3 phones after that. Incoming calls are free. They still gave me a $25.00 customer credit to help me with the overage charge and it was our fault for forgetting to call the cellphone back from our landline phone so the call would be free. Night-times start at 7:00 p.m. and weekends are free. Just remember to make the call incoming from a landline during the day to the cellphone. The only problem with U.S. Cellular is that reception isn't good in parts of Mannington and parts of South Fairmont. The Motorola V262 is a great flip phone with a great battery life, just fine if you don't need or want a camera phone. I recommend buying the additional text message service if you have teenagers using the phone. Our plan with 3 phones on sharetalk, 1400 daytime minutes, nights and weekends free, extra text message service on two lines, nationwide long-distance in our calling area, insurance on 3 phones comes to about $145.00 a month with taxes and insurance.
