Alltel is awesome. They have a great plan and good phones. AT&T isn't bad either, but Nextel is horrible!

Great reception all over Hurricane and around the area. Perfect reception around the high school on Teays Valley, down I-64, and Rt. 34. I get a perfect signal where I work at Putnam General Hospital too. The signal does a really good job at not dropping off as you travel or even indoors. Alltel does really well in this part of the state, much better than others I know. I've never dropped a call and they sound clear. I'm very happy and would recommend them. Plans also seem like good deals, much better than others especially on texting.

I live in the Teays Valley of WV. If I stay in the vicinity of hwy 34 and I-64 I have good reception. If I drive one mile west on North Poplar Fork, my reception drops to one bar or less. In other words, I have inadequate reception at home to sustain a phone connection. In fact, the service with Nextel is really limited to Charleston, Huntington, and many, but not all, major metro areas in WV. Most locations in between are predominently dead air space. I am dropping Nextel next week!

Considering Verizon has no wireless operations in my part of the state, it's amazing I get reception at all. I was on the Extended Digital network and had no dropped calls.
