I had Us cellular and like most, I lost my service reception with them up here where I live. I switched to AT&T, and I have had no problems. They are cheaper, I have took this phone clear up to Ohio and have not yet lost any service. The funny thing about it I am a prepaid... .you can't beat that!

No problems with reception when visiting here. I was in fear of signal problems but lucked out. Verizon is horrible. All my friends had to use my phone the entire time since VZW roams. Overall, AT&T isn't too bad.

My ATT service has been terrible. I have never dropped so many calls as I have since using ATT here. Some 10 minute calls can be dropped 5 or 6 times. If I go to the top of a mountain I can get a higher number of bars and then as long as I do not move I can make a call but that is about the only way.

To the guy above who basically said Cingular sucks in morgantown, it DOESN'T. There is only one person in my family who gets dropped calls, and thats because her phone is a crappy model [it was like $2]. The rest of the family normally has full bars even on the backroads. Cingular does not own this coverage area, it is owned by US Cellular, but Cingular has an agreement with them to use it. Out of about 6 cell phones I've had in 10 years, Cingular has been the best in this area.

Cingular has no towers ini Morgantown. Under their contract, if you have 2 consecutive months where more than 50% of you minutes are out of network, they can cancel your service. Any call in Morgantoen is Out of Network. They did this to me.

Cingular service is pretty good when you're in town, but once you hit a back road it's non-existent! And, I do NOT agree with those commercials saying that Cingular is the network with the fewest dropped calls, because I have at LEAST 5 dropped calls a DAY, even when I am in town and have good reception. Also, if you are driving on route 50, between Clarksburg and Parkersburg (about an hour's distance) there is a huge dead area where you get absolutely NO signal at all. I can see more than one cell phone tower along the way, so I'm sure there are some cell phone networks that allow calls in this area. So, I ouwld not recommend Cingular to anyone.

My parents live near the Morgantown Mall and I usually get reception when I visit them. Sometimes I'll drop a call, but it usually works in their house.

The reception is poor to none at best. All calls are dropped, some people have had to call me a dozen times before it even gets through. This is a major University... ... why can't they get better reception? Since I have GSM I was told that there should be no problems... ... ... ..wrong.

I drove to WV morgantown 2 weeks ago, found the service start to drop when in hilly areas, as expected there are no signal at all when I arrived at WVU (Evansdale campus or Downtown). So I had my cell phone as alarm clock for 3 days and not until I left the down about 30 min driving ( 30-40 miles away) that I start to pick up some signal, the V690 is new model in US, so I don't think it's the phone, I even tried to swap the simm card to different phones, doesn't work either. As I will be regularly travel to WV, it could be a problem for me.
